The biographee seems primarily an academic. So which of these criteria does she meet?

I do note that we have first-rate evidence that her book got an honorable mention for MLA Prize for Studies in Native American Literatures, Cultures, and Languages; but although the MLA is well known, this prize is less so (neither "award" nor "prize" appears within the article "Modern Language Association"), and an honorable mention is not an award. -- Hoary (talk) 08:32, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
