Shlonak akhoya, First of all I appologize for my earlier comment above. I thought you were one of those neoconservatives who want to find justification to the invasion of Iraq by showing that Saddam was a threat to the area.

I don't think that Saddam had any claims outside the right bank of Shatt al-Arab [1] and Kuweit. Even thought a plan was discussed about a sort of union with Syria during the sixties, main (if not the only) idea behind this was of pan-arabism.[2] Iraq has never had a claim on Khūzestān, It was clear then that this was not a casus belli to the war with Iran.
