Read the rules for talk pages. Use as a Forum, Soapboxing or blatant off-topic remarks are to be removed immediately. The only discussions are those concerning the use of Reliable Sources for the improvement of the articles. Thanks. P.S. - I'm a veteran editor and when I was an Admin when I lived in Australia. HammerFilmFan (talk) 21:32, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Probably you need to read it again. I will get back to you tomorrow. --SMS Talk 21:57, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
HammerFilmFan, if you were, you would have known not to edit other editors' comments on your own talk page, like you did with mine. You have another warning coming for your other "cleanup" on article talk pages, specifically Talk:Benazir Bhutto. Drmies (talk) 04:16, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Pakistan Tag and Assess

Hey Sarmad. I recall that you used to have a bot (User:SMS Bot) with which you tagged articles under the scope of WikiProject Pakistan. There are currently plans to start a "Pakistan Tag and Assess" drive, which has the aim of tagging and assessing as many Pakistan-related articles as possible under the scope of WP:PAK. The drive is modelled after the Indian version, and there's a member of WikiProject India who's shown interest in the idea. If you're interested, do check out further discussion here. Thanks, Mar4d (talk) 09:52, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Mar4d! that is surely a good idea put up by Yash, I will certainly like to participate in it. Will comment further there. --SMS Talk 09:58, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 9

Hi. When you recently edited Khewra Salt Mine, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Punjab (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Re:Edit warring at Pakistan Army

dude . . i did edit the right thing . . if i am providing the link for the war article whats wrong with it ??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.225.78.6 (talk) 08:53, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

First that article link is already present in the article at three places, secondly in the cover of adding a link you are also making the article non neutral by adding your point of view. --SMS Talk 08:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

cool i'd find a neutral article and then change it . . i thought it was wrong so i changed it . . no point arguing if u think its my personal point of view — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.225.78.6 (talk) 09:04, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Adding link is not that much a problem. You can remove from one place and it in the section you were adding, if you think it is better to have it here but yes the other issue is a concern. --SMS Talk 09:14, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Okay as far as the other issue is concerned . . i hav removed it . . but i guess u wont hav a problem if i support it with a neutral source — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.225.78.6 (talk) 09:56, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

No I don't have any issue if you support it with neutral and reliable source. Happy Editing! --SMS Talk 09:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

ConfirmAccount extension

Hey :). You're being contacted because you are involved in the ACC process, or participated in the original discussion in '08 about the ConfirmAccount extension. This is a note to let you know that we are seeking opinions on switching this extension on, effectively making the ACC process via the Toolserver redundant. You can read all the details here; I would be very grateful if people would indicate how they feel about the idea :). Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 13:17, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Robotics and Neural Networks

Hi

Yes, neural networks are within the scope of the Robotics project; however, it would not necessarily cover all neural networks topics.

Was there a particular reason why you asked? Chaosdruid (talk) 01:37, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. Actually I found some neural network article not included in any Wikiproject so the most relevant I could think of was Robotics, that is why asked there to confirm. --SMS Talk 07:34, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
You could probably add the computer project banner as well. I normally add categories and use those as pointers for the projects they may be under. For example Neural Networks would normally have AI & Computer Hadware categories, as well as possibly robotics categories so that would mean AI, Computing and Robotics project banners. If you want to add them then I have a little cheat sheet for the robotics templates at User:Chaosdruid/templates/Robotics. Chaosdruid (talk) 23:55, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok Thanks. --SMS Talk 05:37, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Khewra Salt Mine

Hello! Your submission of Khewra Salt Mine at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Froggerlaura ribbit 01:57, 12 April 2012 (UTC) The article is currently ineligible because it has not been 5x expanded within 10 days. It needs another 1800 words of prose to qualify.

Thanks for reviewing. I will do any further content addition tonight. --SMS Talk 07:30, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
  • It still needs another 600 words to qualify for 5X expansion. If you can add another 500 words I will pass on that requirement. Froggerlaura ribbit 14:58, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Attack pages

Thanks for tagging Padraig o grady, but where a page is a personal attack there is a better tag to use than {{db-vandalism}}. What you should do is, blank the page so as to get the attack off the screen, and replace it with {{db-attack}} or {{db-g10}}. That puts it in high-priority queue for admin attention, and generates a suitably fierce warning for the attacker's talk page. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:18, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Ok got it. Thanks! --SMS Talk 09:30, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Super Market (Islamabad)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Super Market (Islamabad) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. CaptainScreebo Parley! 09:31, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Siachen conflict

Hey I think the strength should be less than causalities without a clarification. Is that inconsistent that way in the source or is there a reason? [1] --lTopGunl (talk) 10:18, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

It seems unusual but the strength of the troops is the number of troops stationed at Siachen at a time but the casualty figure is the number of deceased troops since 1984. I hope this makes sense now. --SMS Talk 11:00, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I was thinking of somewhat on these lines. Better make this clarification in the body before someone else finds it strange and reverts. --lTopGunl (talk) 11:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Sure. Btw this (2012 Siachen Glacier avalanche) article's title need to be changed to something like 2012 Siachen Region avalanche as the avalanche was not from Siachen Glacier, it was from Bilafond Glacier. What is your opinion on it? --SMS Talk 11:12, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, it should be renamed if the source was different (I'll plead some extent of ignorance, been busy recently so haven't been up to date on it). But if there's a source, then there's no question. --lTopGunl (talk) 16:54, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Actually I was also not aware of it until User:DLinth told me, and I looked at the maps to find out that this place is not connected to Siachen glacier. --SMS Talk 14:12, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Lol! you were right. --SMS Talk 13:08, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
That's quite some mess over there. From the looks of it... was there some canvassing going around? You should have reported it at ANI (yeah gets messy but the problem is serious). I have that article on my watchlist since months anyway so I'll check around. --lTopGunl (talk) 16:54, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes I should have reported it, but thought to let it go. That just turned into an ugly pointless battle. --SMS Talk 14:12, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
That was bound to happen when an editor is invited and responds to a POV. I'm not sure how things are to be handled once it's done and the consensus is being pushed. Maybe inform wikiproject Pakistan or something? (this has been done now) Or invite more neutral editors from noticeboards... that will just drag it though. I hate when things as small as this become TLDR disputes. --lTopGunl (talk) 15:27, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
I asked outside opinion on WP:RSN about the two sources but that thread will also be ruined by discussing content dispute. --SMS Talk 15:37, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
I doubt my suggestion on the Wikiproject was even worth anything... this has only been further used as a canvassing board to invite Indian editors [2] [3]. From one editor to four-five... pretty convenient. Tell me whenever you decide to report (regardless of the discussion result or in future). --lTopGunl (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Actually I am no longer following the issue. I have withdrawn by undoing my edits. --SMS Talk 11:40, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
