Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. CityOfSilver 15:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Plagiarism edit

Hi! I thought I'd explain why the content was removed and why you are getting warned about plagiarism.

In a nutshell, what happened is that you added took content from this Biography.com article and added it to the page for Debbie Allen with this edit. This is seen as a copyright violation, as the Biography.com article is copyrighted to that particular company/website and as such, cannot be copied wholesale. It is also seen as plagiarism because although you did link to the Biography.com article as a source, it was added in a manner that made it seem like it was your own work.

A good rule of thumb is to always re-write the content in your own words, as this will not only help take care of any concerns about copyright or plagiarism, but it will also give you good experience in re-writing and summarizing content. It may also give you the opportunity to write something more neutral, as sometimes content taken from another website or source might be written in a favorable (or alternatively unfavorable) tone about the subject.
