License tagging for Image:Edwards_win_at_gir.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Edwards_win_at_gir.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:08, 2 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

File permission problems with your image uploads edit

Thanks for uploading images at Wikipedia. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creators of the files have agreed agreed to license them under the given license. You also used a "self" license tag that incorrectly indicates you were the photographer of all of the image however you have created Lloyd Wideman, Brandon W. Mudd, Bryan Clauson, James Compton Jr and BM Motors as the authors.

Please have all of the photographers send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating their ownership of the material and their intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion. Each photographer will also need to send a link to their work on Wikipedia.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Please be aware that image of currently living people are considered freely replaceable and may fail the Non-free content policy.

You can find a list of files you have uploaded in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 23:16, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:TJ Zizzo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:TJ Zizzo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of File:TJ Zizzo.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:TJ Zizzo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. TORC racing edit

Are you employed by the series? Otherwise, why do you keep changing the fact that LOORRS took over the West Coast racing? It's true and I'm sure that you know it. Also, many of the images that you placed in the article are MAJOR problems - they were stole from the TORC website. You replaced legal free-use images that I took with copyright violations! My images were high quality. Please only upload images that you took yourself since you don't understand image legality. As a Commons administrator, I am required to delete these copyrighted images that you didn't take. Royalbroil 02:39, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I purposely put in images from the pits. If you're looking for more action shots, I have tons of them from Crandon in the barn turn available on my flickr photostream here are some from 2013. I hope that link works. I'm happy to upload any of them. Let me know. I have great shots of every PRO driver for the last few years. Royalbroil 02:59, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

It sounds like you are more concerned with promoting your own photos than being an objective, unbiased administrator. We do own the photos that were placed here but I understand I may have placed them on the page under the wrong grouping. Your photos were removed because they are five years old and feature drivers no longer with the series. We would like to keep the page current. I do not want to fight or argue with you; it's obvious you like the series and respect it and the drivers, but it needed updated and cleaned up. Thank you again. Skippy05 (talk) 03:40, 26 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry that I was grumpy in the first posting. I do respect the series, drivers, etc. I have tons of pictures from Crandon last year including action shots and pit shots. Image licensing is a MAJOR issue here at Wikipedia and I'm very concerned that only images with a clean fair use history are used. Earlier, you appeared to be replacing known-free files with copyrighted files that were found on the internet. This is upsetting / insulting. It don't need be my images - as long as they are free use beyond the shadow of a doubt. Commons is extremely strict because so many people were finding images on the internet and passing them off as their own. See this link. Here are some of my photos that I think are quite good that would work in the article CJ Greaves or Chad Hord to represent Pro 2, Rob MacCachren, Johnny Greaves, or the field to represent Pro 4, and Keegan Kincaid for Pro Light. You have again wiped off every single photo that I took in favor of your own. Please start using edit summaries to explain what you're doing and why.
Also, you need to be aware of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. It's the #1 hot button topic right now on the Wikipedia / Commons movement [1]. For example, an article from the current Wikipedia newsletter. Royalbroil 06:25, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your response. I replaced your photos with mine solely because they are from last year and are action shots. I definitely do not want to do anything inappropriate and want to ensure I am working within the guidelines of Wikipedia. I'm not trying to promote my own pics or replace anyone else's work; I just want to ensure the page is one of quality. Thank you for your hard work in maintaining it.
