Welcome! edit

Hello, Skiman514, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Would indeed like to have your input / oversight on this new page for Diana Zicklin Berrent, Founder, Survivor Corps, the largest grassroots COVID movement in the world (www.survivorcorps.com) and with over 167,000 members on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/COVID19survivorcorps) How best to share the draft / sandbox i have started. Open to any and all suggestions and looking forward to working with you in get this page reviewed and approved MAny thanks Andrew Lindsay Skiman514 (talk) 05:26, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Got it. Thanks for the assist and support. Yes, I am being paid by Fiscal Sponsor - Multplier.org, whose project is "Survivor Corps' to which I am a Member of the Leadership Team / Executive Committee (https://www.survivorcorps.com/leadership). Diana Berrent is the Founder. She is not paying me directly, but it's all part of the same effort of branding. Fill find the template and insert - here? Skiman514 (talk) 05:37, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

The {{paid}} template is the appropriate one to use in place of {{UserboxCOI}}. For example, using it like this:
{{paid|employer=Multiplier.org|client=Survivor Corps}}
Will render the statement "This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by Multiplier.org on behalf of Survivor Corps for their contributions to Wikipedia."
You can look at the documentation at the page Template:Paid to see what combination of parameters would yield the most accurate statement. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:46, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Article content/paid editing edit

Your userpage is not considered to be a workspace for an article in progress. I have moved the content to your user sandbox, User:Skiman514/sandbox. You may continue to work on it there. Your userpage is meant for a small amount of personal information about yourself, as well as your interests and goals as they relate to editing Wikipedia. Please see the userpage guidelines for a more detailed description of what is considered acceptable content.

Also, if you work in a paid position with the organization Survivor Corps, then your existing conflict of interest declaration is insufficient. You will have make a mandatory declaration as a paid editor in accordance with Wikipedia's paid editing disclosure policy. If you are not paid for your work with this organization, a further clarification of your role with them would still be appreciated. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:24, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I see that you moved the remnants of your userpage into the main article space, a practice which I highly discourage. I am going to nominate the page for deletion so that you can continue to work on your article and/or properly submit it for review by uninvolved editors. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:33, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

New posts at the bottom edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your recent talk page comments were not added to the bottom of the page. New discussion page messages and topics should always be added to the bottom. Your message may have been moved. In the future you can use the "Add topic" link in the top right. For more details see the talk page guidelines. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:30, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the input. Will keep working on the text and citations. Will let you know when ready for a follow-up review, Cheers Skiman514 (talk) 12:51, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Some more advice for you... a lengthy list of external links is not desirable. You don't need to include a link to every piece of media coverage she has ever received. Also, you need to write in a formal tone, and refer to her by her surname only after the first mention. Articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, as if being described by a disinterested third party with no prior knowledge of the subject. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:24, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks and yes - am gathering other links and citations and re-working the text to align with your sugestions and reqs. to be continued Skiman514 (talk) 16:09, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
