Yes, I did. I was part of Dieter's group that toured the USS Constellation that day. Reviewer granted edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:49, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

George J. Marrett edit

Mr. Marrett is certainly a former USAF officer, Vietnam veteran, excellent author. However, I do not think we can call him a retired USAF officer. He resigned after 10 years and does not receive any retirement benefits. Other than that the post for him looks good.

My father, Stuart Silver, flew Jolly Greens out of NKP and is mentioned several times in Cheating Death. I have some questions for Mr. Marrett and wonder if you have any contact with him. My father passed away in 1986 and I know so little about his tour in SEA. My email address is knsilver54@gmail.com.

Skeet shooter Let me apoligize. I was looking for the title in the cite reference and kinda over looked yout reference section (towards the end of a 24 hour shift, again sorry). I do not really see why this article can not be a B class and I will rate as thus. If you can build some info on this man's early year (birthplace, college, etc etc). I think this article could be pushed up to a higher class. Thats what I enjoy about editing is finding these interesting people & helping the writers along. Art Nalls edit

Hi. I was in the process of responding at AfD, and it was closed. The medal isn't an issue, it's the commentary. Phrases like "that fans might otherwise not be able to enjoy", "his group of like-minded pilots and maintainers", "He had a reputation as a maverick", and such. The article is chock full of them. Just report facts, get rid of opinion and color commentary. I hope that helps. Onel5969 TT me 18:01, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi One|5969. I see what you mean now - thanks. But those weren't my opinions. I was trying to report the facts as stated in the sources. For example, the "reputation as a maverick" was a paraphrase of "indulging his quirky Do-It-Youself sensibility" from the Popular Mechanics article. Similar words were in The Washington Post article as well. Should such an observation not be stated or should I add a phrase such as, "According to the The Washington Post," to make clear the source of the opinion? I'll look through the Wiki guidelines, but I would appreciate your thoughts on how this situation should be handled. Thanks, Skeet Shooter (talk) 23:59, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Oliver R. Crawford edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Oliver R. Crawford, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Gathering of Eagles edit

Back in 2008 you brought some information about the Gathering of Eagles program into the biography of Fred Ascani. You included that information along with other honors. I think it quite appropriate.

Recently, IP 96.27.161.210 from Montgomery, Alabama (near Maxwell AFB) has been adding lots and lots of nearly identical sentences to pilot biographies, saying that the pilot was honored in the Gathering of Eagles. I have been reverting this person per WP:REFSPAM], as overly promotional to the program rather than helpful to the encyclopedia, but in some cases I'm sure the information can be brought into a biography along with other honors, so that it's not just about the one program. Can you take a look this guy's contributions and see if you are interested in giving some of the biographies more of a broad base of honors? Cheers. Binksternet (talk) 15:59, 12 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Edward L. Feightner edit

You're (kind of) right - Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography#Names is perhaps more useful. GiantSnowman 17:05, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK, thanks. It sounds like you are OK if I change the article back to include Feightner’s call sign, so I’ll do so. Skeet Shooter (talk) 19:05, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Chuck Wilson (pilot) edit

On 23 April 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Chuck Wilson (pilot), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that U.S. Air Force U-2 pilot Chuck Wilson flew the first operational mission of the S-model Dragon Lady in 1995 from Osan Air Base, South Korea? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Chuck Wilson (pilot)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
