Speedy deletion nomination of File:Barongan1.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Barongan1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Arteyu ? Speedy deletion nomination of Chua Clan Chiyang Association Muar edit

A tag has been placed on Chua Clan Chiyang Association Muar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.   I noticed that you have recently created an article which has been proposed for speedy deletion. Things can move very fast here at Wikipedia. To have more time to develop your article without having to fight a simultaneous battle to keep it from being deleted, consider developing it in a drafting page set up as a subpage of your user page instead of creating it a "real" article. If you would like some instructions on how to do that, click "Show" at the end of the next line.
How to Use A Drafting Page for Article Creation

If you want to be able to draft an article without being bothered by other users trying to improve or delete your page, do it in a drafting page set up as a subpage of your user page. Here's how:

  1. Edit your user page (not the article page, the article talk page, or your user talk page). Somewhere on your user page create a link to your drafting page like this:

    [[/<articlename>]|Draft of <articlename>]]

    Replace <articlename>, including the brackets, with the name of your article. You don't have to include "Draft of" after the | if you don't want to do so, but it can be a useful reminder. Save your user page.
  2. You will now find a red link on your user page which says "Draft of <articlename>". Click on it. A page that will come up which says, "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name" and has a link that says, "Start the <articlename> article." Click that link.
  3. Start editing your article in the editing page that comes up.
  4. Do not add category links to your draft unless you put nowiki tags around each one to deactivate it (for example:<nowiki>[[Category:Widgets]]</nowiki>); putting live category links on a draft article violates Wikipedia policy.
  5. When you're finished, save it.
  6. You've created your drafting page and you can go back and edit it as often as you like.

Your article will not be indexed in Wikipedia's article index so long as it is kept as a drafting page, so when you think that it's ready for scrutiny by other editors, you can create a new article page and simply copy the code from your drafting page into its edit form. Once you've done that, please delete your drafting page by adding a {{db-userreq}} tag at the very top, saving it, and then deleting the drafting page link off of your user page.

A word of warning: just because a drafting page is in your user space doesn't mean that you can put text, images, or other material on it which is, or may be, a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy, which is unsourced negative information about a living person, or which attacks, defames, or threatens a living person. That kind of stuff can be deleted immediately, without warning, anywhere it is found and can get you in trouble with the community, too.

Finally a couple of words of friendly advice: First, I've tried several times to write a better introduction to editing than can be found at the Article Wizard and Your First Article and I can't. Don't be tempted to skip past sections of either one. Read them all, they're full of solid gold information, and take them to heart. Second, if you've not done so already, you need to immediately read the Notability, Verifiability, No original research, and What Wikipedia is not policies from beginning to end. Without a working knowledge of those policies it can be very frustrating to try to write an article that won't be deleted or heavily edited. Finally, if you are thinking that your article will be safe here because there are other articles just like it already on Wikipedia, don't bet on it. Those other articles may be just as much at risk of deletion as yours may be, but no one has happened to notice or bother with them yet.

Best wishes, thanks again, and good luck with your drafting. — TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 15:07, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yahya bin Awang edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Yahya bin Awang, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.monash.edu.au/alumni/prominent-alumni/yahya-awang.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 05:46, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Yahya bin Awang edit

The article Yahya bin Awang has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Possibly copyrighted information, hence or otherwise no published sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Minimac (talk) 06:03, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Works and efforts already been to taken and done to edit, upgrade and refurbish of essential and relevant information and source for this article regarding this prominent subject and person. kindly do not delete.

How references work edit

Hello, thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. I noticed some problems with your references, and it would help if you could use inline citations properly; it's fairly easy to do, and makes it much easier to verify the information. Below is some information about how to add them:

Simple references edit

These require two parts;

a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References ==
{{reflist}}

(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)

To see the result of that, please look at User:Chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Sisiluncai/reftest and try it out.

Named references edit

Chzz was born in 1837, <ref name="MyBook">
"The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009.
</ref> in Footown.<ref name="MyBook"/>

Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see User:Chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.

Citation templates edit

You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;

Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation
 | last = Smith
 | first = John
 | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century
 | publication-date = 2001
 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
 | page = 125
 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4
}}
</ref>

Please see User:Chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.

For more help and tips on that subject, see User:Chzz/help/refs.

For more help, you can either;
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello.

Copyright problem: Hassan Yunus edit

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Referencing edit

Hi there.

I noticed that you added some references, like this;

<ref>[http://www1.nst.com.my/Current_News/JohorBuzz/Monday/MyJohor/2587337/Article/ Showcase folk dances on regular basis|Fauziah Ismail|2009/06/22|JohorBuzz|MyJohor|Johor Street Reaching Out|NST]</ref>

You shouldn't use the pipe symbol (|) like that; instead, it should either be like this;

<ref>[http://www1.nst.com.my/Current_News/JohorBuzz/Monday/MyJohor/2587337/Article/ Showcase folk dances on regular basis], Fauziah Ismail, 2009/06/22, JohorBuzz, MyJohor, Johor Street Reaching Out, NST</ref>

...or, even better, like this;

<ref>
{{Citation
| title Showcase folk dances on regular basis
| author = Fauziah Ismail
| date = 22 June 2009
| publisher = JohorBuzz
| journal = New Straits Times (JohorBuzz)
| location = Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
| accessdate = 2010-04-03
| url = http://www1.nst.com.my/Current_News/JohorBuzz/Monday/MyJohor/2587337/Article/
}}

...I was about to add some help information here, but I see above that someone beat me to it; sorry if I am repeating things. So, I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you do need any help. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  16:23, 3 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bear in mind!!!!!! the article was a prominent local leader as a Menteri Besar who has since died, a historically significant of a deceased person of historic person based on the fair information provided by the official website the present office he ever held. File permission problem with File:ATMemblen.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:ATMemblen.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  fetchcomms 22:54, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The article Chua Song Lim has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

Proposed deletion of Kuda kepang edit

The article Kuda kepang has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how this might meet notability guidelines. Lacks citations to significant coverage in reliable sources.

RadioFan (talk) 11:27, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is the problem caused when someone is not doing the resposibilities. There are 2 articles, the proposed deletion Kuda kepang and the more comprehensive Kuda Kepang. The article Kuda kepang instead of propose to be deleted, should be proposed to be merged into the more comprehensive Kuda Kepang article. Sisiluncai (talk) 12:57, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Alright. You realize I have to ask: you are the originator of both Kuda Kepang and Kuda kepang, both with different content. Why? I have redirected Kuda kepang to Kuda Kepang for now, and suggest that if there was information in the redirected article that you feel needs to be included in the main article that you move it yourself. In general, we make one article on a topic and then create redirects for possible other names for it. Syrthiss (talk) 13:05, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
And you realize I have to ask you back : do you check the original of the disputed Kuda kepang content? I created Kuda Kepang with the Kuda kepang link/redirected back to Kuda Kepang before someone just edited with new content of different article. This is what i meant by when someone is not doing the resposibilities. Thanks but No thanks, I was the one who edited back and redirected it back to the main Kuda Kepang article. Sisiluncai (talk) 13:13, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry, from the page histories it appears that Kuda kepang was created first 02:37, 18 March 2010 Sisiluncai (talk | contribs | block) (997 bytes) and then a bit later Kuda Kepang was created 04:48, 18 March 2010 Sisiluncai (talk | contribs | block) (2,893 bytes) with a much more comprehensive form. At no time did you edit Kuda kepang to be a redirect before or after RadioFan's prod, tho I do see that you suggested it on the talk page after ranting at RadioFan. So, in essence: mistakes were made on both your part and RadioFan's part. Both of you were trying to improve the encyclopedia in the ways that you felt best, and both of you had a misstep. The articles are not going to be deleted without further action on someone's part, so no worry there. Cheers! Syrthiss (talk) 13:24, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Sisiluncai. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Contributor copyright investigations concerning your contributions in relation to Wikipedia's copyrights policy. The listing can be found here. For some suggestions on responding, please see Responding to a CCI case. Thank you. As you were advised immediately above, a contributor copyright investigation has been opened to look more into your edits given what seems to be a history of misunderstanding our copyright policy. "Responding to a CCI case" will give you some information about what to expect from this. Although we will be notifying you of every issue we find in conducting the investigation, I did want to let you know that problems have been found in Sri Menanti. You seem to have copied content from various Malaysian language sources and translated them. I'm afraid that translation does not create a new copyright. Only the original author or publisher of that text (whichever owns copyright) has the right to authorize translations. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:45, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, in this edit you added material to an article that was directly lifted from here. Please understand this is a copyright violation and is contrary to wikipedia's policies. I have removed the addition. --Mkativerata (talk) 10:45, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

NO. Definitely NO. I didn't. No copy paste word by word. But research was based on the information. Please do your job properly. Do not make baseless allegation. Thank you.Sisiluncai (talk) 10:56, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sisiluncai, please calm down. I've reviewed what Mkativerata said, and, yes, you did directly cut-and-paste material from another website. A team of editors is currently going through every single contribution you have made to Wikipedia on this page and we're finding that the vast majority of your article creations and very many of your edits have been cut-and-paste copyright violations from other sources. Some you've translated, but you've then put the translated text in directly, which is still a copyright violation. Additionally, we've had to delete nearly all the images you've uploaded. You have told us you took the pictures yourself, but you have clearly taken them from elsewhere on the internet and pretended they were yours.
I'd like to invite you to visit Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Sisiluncai and help us sort out this mess. If you can tell us which sites you took which edits from, we can get the mess cleaned up quickly. As things stand, I'd like to request that you don't upload any pictures in future without asking someone else if its okay first. Also, please don't create any new articles for the time being.
I'd rather not have to block you from editing Wikipedia, and if you'll help us sort out the copyright problems, it won't come to that. But if there are any more cut-and-paste edits to Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. Okay? REDVERSSay NO to Commons bullying 11:09, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Alright. But please understand what is copy paste. I said, No copy paste word by word. Some expression just happen to be the same. If we are not allowed to do this, then it will be really detrimental to Wikipedia. Too bad. Thanks. Sisiluncai (talk) 11:22, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
They were copy-and-paste word-for-word. Whole sentences are identical. In some cases, whole articles. You've pasted them into Wikipedia and done a minor rewrite in some places, but that's still a copyright violation. I need to know that you understand this: you must not, ever, copy-and-paste anything into Wikipedia and then rewrite it, or copy-and-paste text from somewhere, rewrite it and then add it to Wikipedia. Everything you add must be entirely in your own words. If you need to quote from reliable sources (not blogs), then you can quote, as long as you don't quote much and that you say clearly in the text where you got the quote from (like this: Tan Sri Dato' X said in the Straits Times that "A short quote of what he said".) Please tell me that you understand this. REDVERSSay NO to Commons bullying 11:28, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Everything I added was entirely my own words. Some expression just happen to be the same. Just my research was based on the information. If we are not allowed to do this, then alright. Sisiluncai (talk) 11:34, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I need to know that you understand that copy-and-pasting is wrong and that you agree you'll never do it again. REDVERSSay NO to Commons bullying 11:43, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I fully understand understand that copy-and-pasting is wrong. I never do that. Do I???? Now, I need to know that you understand that, I repeat, everything I added was entirely my own words. Some expression just happen to be the same. Just my research was based on the information. If we are not allowed to do this, then alright. Your understanding, rationality and wisdom, is fully appreciated in this case. Thank you very much. Sisiluncai (talk) 11:48, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Right, I'm going to take it that you don't understand what I've said, and I'm going to prove that you're not telling the truth. This is an article you copy-and-pasted from elsewhere. Take the sentence The Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP) aims to uplift the Indian community especially at the grassroots level by providing better living and health standards and put that into Google, like I've done here. Now explain to me how that exact sentence - exact - appears in The Star on this page written in October 2007. REDVERSSay NO to Commons bullying 12:01, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
See.. who do not understand here, I said, wrote, I fully understand understand that copy-and-pasting is wrong. I never do that. But if this is your way deciding some one is wrong, too bad for wikipedia. Then will come some hero to kick me out. Sisiluncai (talk) 05:23, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
You never do that? The sentence "The Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP) aims to uplift the Indian community especially at the grassroots level by providing better living and health standards" that you added to Malaysian Indian United Party is to be found identically, word for word, in The Star three years before. Explain how this happened. REDVƎRS 08:49, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
So??? I said much earlier, everything I added was entirely my own words. Some expression just happen to be the same. Just perhaps my research was based on the information. So why block me it is not my entire article, or all and every article happen to be like that. Is this the way you carry out your responsibility put by Wikipedia??? Please do not harm wikipedia for your own prejudice. You are hariming the whole site and the peoples who are benefitting from it. Please realise before you damage the whole wikipedia. Please , some one take asome action against this. Sisiluncai (talk) 10:10, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Every article of yours that I checked contained a minimum of three sentences that were an exact copy of something elsewhere on the internet, down to the peculiar spelling, grammar and syntax errors of someone else's translation into English. It is certain that you did not write these sentences, you just copy/pasted them from the other site. Elen of the Roads (talk) 10:14, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:MasjidJamekMuarPertama.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:MasjidJamekMuarPertama.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Meet-up: Editors from Malaysia edit

Hello! You might or might not have seen me around here as I've not been active in Wikipedia the past few months. Before leaving for NS, it was my intention to form a Malaysian user group. I'm still very much interested in forming the group. However, before forming the group, I would love to organize a meet-up between editors of the Malaysian editing community to test the waters and hear what you guys might have to say. To my knowledge, there has not been a Wikipedia meet-up in this country before. I don't mind organizing the meet-up but need to know if anyone is interested in joining the meet-up. So... please reply and let me know if you would be interested in joining a meet-up and your ideas/thoughts about a user group. Thank you.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Bejinhantalks 12:29, 15 December 2012 (UTC) (Message delivered by EdwardsBot (talk) 12:29, 15 December 2012 (UTC))Reply

File permission problem with File:Muar Flag.gif edit

Thanks for uploading File:Muar Flag.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jon Kolbert (talk) 03:43, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Buildings and structures in Muar edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Buildings and structures in Muar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —swpbT 16:39, 8 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:MPMuar Logo.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:MPMuar Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
