Joey Barton article edit

Not that I am an expert, but I would say it's probably at A class on the Quality scale. I can only see a few tiny points, such as there being a lot of dates, which I'm not sure are always necessary. The sentence "a charity set up to support people that have addiction problems but are without the financial support to benefit from." is confusing, and needs rephrasing to avoid putting the word 'from' at the end. Other then that, there's not much I can see that's wrong with the article.

As I said, I'm no expert, but I'd recommend sending this to a peer review so you can get some experts to pick at it. All the best.  slυмgυм [ ←→ ] 19:54, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've left some comments at the peer review. Mattythewhite 20:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've been hectic, but I'd like to contribute to the peer review. Give me a nudge if I don't do it by close of (GMT) play tomorrow. I'll do my best. The Rambling Man 21:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

José Enrique Sánchez edit

Hey. Seeing as you're the Newcastle guy here, has José Enrique Sánchez actually completed a move to Newcastle? The best I can find is this at Sky Sports which says a deal has been agreed. Cheers, Mattythewhite 21:03, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spanish sources generally jump the gun slightly but hey, it'll be done soon anyway even if it hasn't already. But has he been given a number, or is that people imagining things... Mattythewhite 21:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll see what I can do. Oldelpaso 20:11, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I see someone listed it on Wikipedia:Good article candidates. I'd wait to see what that turns up before thinking about FAC. I must finish that copyediting at some point too... Oldelpaso 20:31, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Re:copyediting, try Cricketgirl -- she is rather helpful even for random requests from random people. She helped me out thrice. I think the article is in decent shape, it's just a matter of the prose having a greater wow factor. Chensiyuan 23:41, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've gone through it twice, the text itself was in pretty good shape already. I hope you don't mind, I split up the Biography so that it is easier to follow. I also did a bit of quote formatting. I left a few notes in the "Style of play" section - I'm not up on my football by any means, so if the questions I've asked are really stupid, forgive me! but I think the terms you use are worth clarification. Notes are marked in the text with <!--COPYEDITOR'S NOTE:...--> - really easy to see if you use something like wikED. I'll list the article for proofing at WP:LoCE, but it might take a while as we are drowning over there. Any questions, let me know! Best wishes, Cricketgirl 14:36, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Flickr image edit

Hey, got your message. What I did was to create an account (if you don't already have one) and this seemed to enable me to mail people on Flickr, so that's a start. Next you need to ask for the image you want to be given either the CC-BY or CC-BY-SA licence. On Flickr these are referred to as either Attribution Creative Commons or Attribution-ShareAlike Creative Commons. If you go to Wikimedia Commons (and get an account if you don't have one there as well!), using the upload wizard will lead you through uploading stuff from Flickr. Hope some of that helps. Give me a shout if you need more help. The Rambling Man 09:52, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

James Milner Off the pitch section edit

Over the past few weeks I’ve been researching desperately to try and expand this section. But for the most part I can only find very trivial facts. Another user has told me that off the pitch sections are not mandatory and in this case it would be best to remove it completely. I’m not so sure, however minor his off the pitch activities might be it would be useful to give an idea of what he’s like as a person.

Please give me your views. Should it be expanded, removed completely or charged in some other way. Please give your views in the Milner Off the pitch section on my talk page. Buc 16:37, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Religion category in Horacio Carbonari article edit

Hi,

You reverted an edit re-instating Category:Argentine Roman Catholics in the Horacio Carbonari article, without answering the question posed in my prior revert. I am not entirely against it. I would like to know the rationale on adding a religion cat for a footy player when:

  1. the person's religion does not have anything to do with the article (at least nothing is mentioned in the article itself), unless it is an important part of his life/personality (e.g. Kaká)
  2. the player is from Argentina, a catholic country. Therefore under this reasoning ,most every person from that country (and many other countries too) woud have to be in this category, rendering the category listing useless. I'd like to know your opinion on this. Alexf42 16:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Update: I had forgotten about it, and just found this was previously discussed here. Alexf42 16:45, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

You keep adding religion a category. It is not rrelevant unless it plays an important part in the player's bio, as per discussions in Footy. If you have a valid reason, please discuss it in WT:WPF. Alexf42 20:06, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

You keep re-inserting (again) the religion category. As stated before it is not relevant in this case. If you feel otherwise,'please discuss it in the Talk page and/or add to the discussion mentioned above. -- Alexf42 16:38, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Kern Cupid edit

A tag has been placed on Kern Cupid requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

File source problem with File:Francis Hudspeth.JPG edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Francis Hudspeth.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 06:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Sir-Nobby! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 943 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  2. Jimmy Smith (footballer born 1947) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File source problem with File:ZulteSJPcrop edited.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:ZulteSJPcrop edited.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
