Question about using a photo edit

Hi Sintaku-- It's Margaret again. I work at the LBJ Library and am updating pages related to the Johnson family. Someone posted an old photograph of Luci Baines Johnson at her first wedding (she is divorced and remarried). Luci would like for me to replace it with a personal photograph that is not in the public domain. Is this permissible? I am the web editor and have already used this photograph of her on our website since she is a Board member. Please advise! Thanks Margaretwmiller (talk) 14:13, 1 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

WP:COPY would help you a lot. Would she be interested in donating the picture to the public domain? Or giving you permission to redistribute it to the public domain? ~~ Sintaku Talk 16:49, 3 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I never thought of that! I spoke with the LBJ Library photographer and she found one that she took, which is in the public domain. It looks great! Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luci_Baines_Johnson Thanks, as always for your help*** Margaretwmiller (talk) 13:42, 4 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
