Welcome to Wikipedia! edit

Dear SilverBulletx3: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD! -- lucasbfr talk 22:15, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi there - what's up? -- cds(talk) 16:26, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Well, I was looking at the Superchick page, and I am familiar with this band. Their name is correctly spelled Superchic[k] and I didn't know how to add an italic thing at the top, you know, indented, like: The correct name of this article should be Superchic[k]. However, according to technical restrictions, you may not have brackets in titles. Or something like that. Can you help me? SilverBulletx3 16:29, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • So, there's no picture of Pete Wentz on his page. And I found a good pic. And I want it to go off to the right in the very beginning. Like every other thing like that. What's the code for that? And would I have to somehow upload the pic into the Wikipedia system?

Your edit to Adolf Hitler edit

Your recent edit to Adolf Hitler was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. It means it's a bot intended to stop vandalism, you might want to change your password as it appears your account was compromised as your last edit was a vandalism looking edit whereas you have many good contribs -- Tawker 18:58, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello! My name's Mets501. How may I help you? —Mets501 (talk) 16:56, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Mets501. So, I was reading the Utada Hikaru article, and then it had a link to Ayumi Hamasaki's album A BEST. The article name for A BEST is A Best, but when I try to change it to A BEST it says that there is already an article with the name A BEST, but that's just a redirect page. What should I do? -SilverBulletx3chattehcontribs 17:02, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
That is a special case; a redirect with history. You must contact an administrator at Wikipedia:Requested moves. I am not an administrator, sorry. —Mets501 (talk) 17:14, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's okay. Thanks for your time and help anyway. :) -SilverBulletx3chattehcontribs 20:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:PeteyWentzJPEG.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:PeteyWentzJPEG.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to I Can't Hate You Anymore, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Regeneration Superchick album cover.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Regeneration Superchick album cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. LG edit

Please look at this diff - you're - accidentally or otherwise - damaging other parts of the article when you're putting that in. I'm reverting it - if you want to add anything in, add it in manually, and carefully. Wibbble 19:50, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. My computer censors every chance it gets, so I'm not surprised that it would do that. That was totally accidental. Regardless, can you please add in the lonelygirl15 part, because it is often called LG. Sorry about the whole LGBT thing. SilverBulletx3 15:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your beautiful words and warm wishes on my birthday, dear friend! I took a well-deserved one-day wikibreak and spent it with my family and my friends... and actually had a beer after months of forced abstinence! :) Of course, there's no way I'd forget about you, so I saved a great, tasty piece of chocolate cake just for you - but sorry, no beer left! Again, thank you so much for taking the time to wish me well, and have a wonderful day, dear Silver! Love, Phaedriel - 06:45, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll be glad to weave some magic over your userpage, dear Silver - but there's so little there now, and if you want something really nice, I need some material to work on! ;) Any chance you could expand it, so I can blow some fairy dust over it? And thanks again! xxx, Sharon

License tagging for Image:Lonelygirl15CastSeason1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Lonelygirl15CastSeason1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:08, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Max Sumner edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Max Sumner, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Message from the My Chemical Romance task force edit

Hello!

You may be interested to know that the WikiProject My Chemical Romance has recently been transformed into a task force of WikiProject Emo. Please visit the task force page to see what's new. This move allies the task force with a larger WikiProject that handles much of the administrative overload, thus allowing task force members to focus on the most important activity: article improvement.

The project's membership list has also been moved to the new task force page. If you see that your username is in the "Inactive/former members" section, please do not take offense; this is because you no longer appear to be active on Wikipedia. We may also take the liberty of removing the member userbox from your userpage if it appears there, to prevent you from automatically appearing in Category:My Chemical Romance task force members. Of course you are free to rejoin the task force and re-add the userbox at any time if you would like to become active again.

For active editors, it is our hope that this change will help spur you to improve articles related to My Chemical Romance. You may have noticed that the old My Chemical Romance project userbox on your user page has automatically changed to the new task force userbox. We may take the liberty of fixing the template link on your userpage, to avoid redirects.

Articles for deletion nomination of Becki Kregoski edit

I have nominated Becki Kregoski, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Becki Kregoski. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Otterathome (talk) 22:20, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Age/Sex/Location edit

The article Age/Sex/Location has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unencyclopedic article. no reliable sources. this reads like an urbandictionary definition

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your contributed article, John Tolkien edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, John Tolkien. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tolkien_family. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tolkien_family. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Tonyinman (talk) 10:46, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:ROTBW-cover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:ROTBW-cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:39, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
