Deletion discussion about Ethan Smallwood

edit

Hello, Siddhesh.gaikwad

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Meeanaya and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ethan Smallwood, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ethan Smallwood.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Meeanaya}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Siddhesh.gaikwad. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Thjarkur (talk) 14:54, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Þjarkur: Thanks for writing here Thjarkur. I've already looked through Wikipedia's COI & other guidelines and have a clear understanding. If you ever noticed, I have only edited and created articles on doctors, because I too am a medical student who lives in India, pursuing my medical degree from University of Mumbai. I've never met these doctors before and they are not even the residents of India. I think it is very unfair for you to claim that I have a COI with the subjects, especially when I am creating articles about dead people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siddhesh.gaikwad (talkcontribs) 14:16, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I apologize if I was mistaken in the assumption that you have a COI. As a note for the future I'll explain why both I and another editor assumed this was a paid article: 1. It has been deleted several time as spam 2. The sources are paid articles in unreliable self-published sources, not organic coverage in reliable sources – those are common indicators of paid articles. – Thjarkur (talk) 14:47, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
