August 2023 edit

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Vishwananda, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Bbb23 (talk) 12:28, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, I am not trying to vandalize. This page is in violation of several BLP policies and its citations are not all reliable. I thought I needed to add that code to the article to get it reviewed. Every edit I make, objective and cited is being undone. For example, about "Vishwananda", I had added that he was the first person outside of India to receive the title "Mahamandaleshwar" and linked to a "Times of India" publication, and that also got undone but the user. Your recent editing history at Vishwananda shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. I understand, but what am I to do when the editor created this page as an attack page and violates many BLP policies? Shiva is Love (talk) 12:56, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's only your opinion. About a week ago you opened a thread about that article at WP:BLPN, but it's attracted no attention from other editors. Your approach to the perceived situation is disruptive and, if you continue, will only lead to blocks.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:02, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you look at my edits, they are much more factual, objective, and written in a neutral tone. It is an attack page by many measures by the user Hanumandas, a page that had originally been denied the creation of.
I am new to wikipedia, so yes, perhaps my thread came up as disruptive, but the learning curve of knowing how to report BLP violations has been confusing to say the least. I'm honestly just looking for help to make the page written in a neutral tone and the unreliable sources removed and do not know the best way to address this. Any comments I make about the content of the article would make me WP:INVOLVED, and I'd like to avoid that if possible. Take a look at the different methods of dispute resolution, and then if you're not sure the best way to proceed, ask at the WP:Teahouse.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:13, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, will look into the dispute resolution/WP:Teahouse. Shiva is Love (talk) 13:34, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
