Guideline and policy news

• Consensus was reached to deprecate Wikipedia:Editor assistance.
• Following a Request for Comment the Book namespace was deprecated.

Technical news

• Wikimedia previously used the IRC network Freenode. However, due to changes over who controlled the network with reports of a forceful takeover by several ex-staff members, the Wikimedia IRC Group Contacts decided to move to the new Libera Chat network. It has been reported that Wikimedia related channels on Freenode have been forcibly taken over if they pointed members to Libera. There is a migration guide and Wikimedia discussions about this.

Arbitration

• After a Clarification request, the Arbitration Committee modified Remedy 5 of the Antisemitism in Poland case. This means sourcing expectations are a discretionary sanction instead of being present on all articles. It also details using the talk page or the Reliable Sources Noticeboard to discuss disputed sources.

Please, can you help me understand the deletion

Hello. a few days ago an article i wrote about the Actor Kristofer Kamiyasu got deleted, for the second time. The first one i wrote had some lack of validation references, and links, but it was my first article and I didn't notice until too late. However, I made a copy of the material and published again, but this time with reference articles that would prove the case, and som updated links. However, I just got the message "A tag has been placed on Kristofer Kamiyasu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kristofer Kamiyasu. "

But that was not true. The article now had references and links that would prove legit. But then, I think you deleted it. Please, bear with me, I'm new to this, but what can I do now? It's already deleted, but no-one really bothered to look at the new material. Can you help me?

Re Standard Hindi Spelling

Hi Pete,

I was just curious, how did you find the copyright violations for this article? I could tell it wasn't his own work but I checked it using Earwig's copyvio tool and it didn't come up with anything.
