Speedy deletion nomination of Fischer Pharmaceuticals Ltd edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fischer Pharmaceuticals Ltd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. MikeWazowski (talk) 14:15, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fischer Pharmaceuticals edit

Hi Shirley. I'm going to attempt to walk you through some of our policies, in hopes that you can determine whether your subject - Fischer Pharmaceuticals - meets our criteria for inclusion. The most critical point I can make is that every subject of an article on wikipedia must be notable; that is to say, multiple reliable sources, independent of the subject, have noted the company's accomplishments or activities. We have specific requirements for various topics, and the relevant one here would be Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies).

I attempted to find news coverage of Fischer, and I'm sorry to say that I was unable to do so. I was unable to substantiate some of the awards and other highlights indicated in the article; there was an award in 2011, for example, for which I could find no coverage. Now, that doesn't mean that it didn't happen - just that I couldn't find a reliable source to confirm that it happened. I appreciate that the company's website was included, but that doesn't work as a reliable source - the company could say anything about itself, yes?

So, step one would be to find sources that discuss the company. Step two would be to take those sources and use them to write the article. The concern with your version, and what likely led it to be tagged for deletion (and subsequently deleted by me) was that it read as if it were an "About the company" page on the firm's website. It didn't have the correct tone. A neutral article might begin with something like "Fischer Pharmaceuticals, or "Dr. Fischer", is a pharmaceutical company based in Jerusalem, Israel. Founded in 1975, its primary activities include research into X, Y, and Z, and the production of medicines such as A, B, and C." Then you talk about the notable research, and then you talk about the products, linking to their articles if they are notable. You may wish to work on a draft of the article first - you can click this link to start off on a blank page: User:Shirleyofer/Draft. In this way, you can form the article and ensure it meets our requirements before posting it to the encyclopedia itself.

I hope this helps get you started. Be mindful of our policies, and be mindful of our conflict of interest policies; your earlier comment seemed to imply that you were editing on behalf of the company, which isn't permitted as such. You can leave me a message if you need an extra pair of eyes on your draft, or if you have any questions - or, just use the {{helpme}} tag on this talk page. You need to change you links into citation. If you would like I can do one of them for you as an example. Also there is something on top of the editor that says Cite if you clicked it and then select templates then cite web. It's makes it easier to cite then manually. I hoped that helped! If you need more help add {{helpme}} you this page or you can write something on my talk page.--Breawycker (talk to me!) 14:48, 4 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

(talk to me!) Thank you for your Help. please be kind enough to change one of our links into citation as you offered. thank you in advance. --Shirleyofer (talk) 09:21, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Shirley, I have modified the first two links in your article to the proper wiki format. When you edit, you'll notice that each reference has a name. The name is optional, however if you use a reference more than once, than you can point to the reference subsequent times just by using <ref name="refname" />. I hope this helps. Hi Helpers, we did the changes were asked and marked the references. Please go over the revised article. can we publish this article? thank you in advanced, Shirley --Shirleyofer (talk) 12:46, 25 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've sorted out those bad boxed sections - a space at start of a line causes problems with Wikipedia. I've also added a Company Infobox for you - have a read at Template:Infobox company - it explains what the fields in the template are for - just add data to the right of the "=" signs. That will help to make it a standard company page.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:38, 25 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
