May 2019 edit

  Hello, I'm DuncanHill. I noticed that you recently removed content from List of wars and anthropogenic disasters by death toll without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Invitation to WikiProject Socialism edit

April 2020 edit

  Hello, I'm Dewritech. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Dictatorship seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for August 18 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Benevolent dictatorship, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Arab Socialist Union. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:44, 18 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

January 2021 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Communist rebellion in the Philippines, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Specifically MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. FDW777 (talk) 13:56, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Battle of Misrata. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you.

Again, re these edits, please read, understand and follow MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. FDW777 (talk) 22:55, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

February 2021 edit

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason.

Again, regarding edits such as this. Please read, understand, and follow MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE, specifically the purpose of an infobox is to summarize (and not supplant) key facts that appear in the article. FDW777 (talk) 12:16, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make disruptive edits to Wikipedia contrary to the Manual of Style.

Again, edits such as this are against MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. You have never posted to an article's talk page, nor have you posted to a user talk page or Wikipedia page. I strongly suggest you start communicating. FDW777 (talk) 17:04, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Communitarianism edit

Hi ShanGuy37. Sorry to have to revert you again, but the reference you addex "Taylor 2005" is meaningless unless you have a fully formatted cite elsewhere in the article explaining what work that refers to. The same went for "Beiser 2005" that you previously added. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 17:21, 15 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
