Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Han-Kwang 16:10, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's better now on Rose Levy Beranbaum and Chuck Williams. :-) Han-Kwang (t) 22:10, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Frieling USA

edit

You will want to have the article be written from a neutral point of view... The facts of the company, history, location, business partnerships, writeups in trade magazines, etc. Things like listing the product line are the things that tend to skew the article towards Ad-like status, especially the way they are written in this article. Now, if a product is itself notable, then it is ok to have it in the article. For instance, saying that Microsoft makes the Windows OS would not be considered ad like, but to say "Microsoft makes the Windows OS, the fastest, most stable, and fun way to get your work done", would be flagged for Ad-like.

Also, if there are any independent reliable sources that have written about this company, including them will go a long way towards keeping the article neutral. Hope this helps! Arakunem 15:35, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

It does look less ad-like now, yes, and the addition of external references helps as well. As far as getting other eyes on the page, there is the Request For Feedback section, where you can ask for other editors to review and comment on the article's content and offer tips for improving it. The link I added above will take you to the main page for that. Hope this helps! Arakunem 16:22, 3 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
One piece of advice I can offer is: Most articles normally begin with an overall introductory statement, such as "Freiling USA is an American company that (manufactures, imports, resells, etc...)", which is then followed up by the info on the founders and such that you already have. Jura-Capresso

edit

The article Jura-Capresso has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Merope 17:49, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Capresso

edit

Hi there, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you.

I went and checked out the Capresso page. The one thing that jumped out at me was this paragraph:

Capresso is the national market leader in premium coffee equipment for home use. The company has been responsible for many industry firsts, such as the Capresso CoffeeTEAM, the first programmable coffee maker with a built-in conical burr grinder and the Capresso MT500, the first drip coffee maker with stainless steel lined heating element.

Those statements are likely what resulted in the "Ad-like" tage being placed. The rest of the article seems pretty encyclopedic, whereas this paragraph does sound like it came from an ad sheet.

A 3rd party citation to support the "Market leader" statement would take some of the edge off, but the product descriptions of "the first to have <x>" really should be removed or re-worded. If after reading the article, a reader would want to go buy the product, then the article is too ad-like.

Hope this helps! ArakunemTalk 17:31, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I see you've already changed the modified the language from what Arakunem was responding to. I actually have a slightly different perception, as you will see from my comments on the Capresso Discussion. Saying that a company did something "first" is not a problem...if you can prove it.

Proposed deletion of Capresso

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Capresso, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
