We have to make a feminism barnstar!

  "Soldiers in Petticoats" Award
Thank you for all of your hard work on Emmeline Pankhurst! It is a wonderfully engaging article, but, really, don't you think we should add an audio file to the article from the Mary Poppins "Sister Suffragette" song?! :) Awadewit (talk) 14:34, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Ack! Now I've got it stuck in my head again...! Congrats, Scartol, for another fine FA. :) María (habla conmigo) 20:29, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
It's my favorite song from that movie! Some of the most brilliant lyrics written for the American stage: "We love men individually, but as a group we think they're rather stoo-pid!" ;) --Figureskatingfan (talk) 21:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
As a life-long supporter of Feminism, I hope men will not be deemed unqualified for this accolade. Perhaps it should be called "Soldiers Against Sexism". Graham. Graham Colm Talk 22:16, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
It is just a quote from a song that Pankhurst is referenced in - it is tailored for the specific FA Scartol wrote. BTW, did you know Scartol is a man? :) We at the Feminism Project welcome all genders. Awadewit (talk) 15:19, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
(checks chromosomes) Oh my god! It's true! Scartol • Tok 15:24, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Helllllllp another Newbie

Hi Scartol, can you please help Ablevolunteers to get the page up and running. We're not a Gap Year org, just an online-ran network doing some great work in rural Kenya. You'd be helping a lot of people, and me .. cheers from cold, dark UK :( Alison Lowndes [1] 20:39, 4 November 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ablevolunteers (talkcontribs)

podcast is live :-)

Thanks heaps for recording another podcast, guys! Here it is!- I've only listened to the first section thus far, and am enjoying it enormously :-) - you're 'live' on the community portal now, and I'll be uploading your recording to iTunes when I get the chance (apologies for the inevitable delays on this bit) - once again thanks for taking the time to record this, and I look forward to many more! cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 06:29, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Awadewit on Flickr!

My India pictures are now up on Flickr. However, because I'm paranoid, I've restricted their access to "family and friends". Do you have a Flickr account that I can "friend" somehow? I know you were interested in seeing my pictures. Awadewit (talk) 02:48, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

Scar, thanks for your nice comments on this article's talk page. It's my intention to address them, but the flu has spread through my little family and I'm feeling a little under the weather today. The changes you've made look great. I especially liked the "plan of action" you spell out, and some of the aesthetic changes you've made. I also appreciate the copyediting you've done in the past few weeks. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 21:37, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Podcast on Sunday

Just a reminder that the Wikivoices podcast on controversial articles hosted by Scartol and Awadewit is happening on Sunday at 6 pm EST. Please add ideas to our list of discussion topics here and come prepared to give a short summary of your work on controversial articles at the beginning of the podcast. Awadewit (talk) 22:52, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi Scartol, I have an account on Skype now with username user:NancyHeise. I sent you a message when I added you to my Skype account. I think I did everything correctly, let me know if you don't see a message for me. I look forward to our conversations tomorrow. NancyHeise talk 17:21, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

  • I have added some suggestions for "conversing about controversy". If you have any further suggestions, please do add them. Awadewit (talk) 02:37, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Can you Skype me? I need to talk about something in preparation for the podcast. Awadewit (talk) 05:57, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Are you open for peer review?

Aloha Scartol. I'm aware of your rather scathing comments on our peer review structures, but with Marskell awol it looks as if you are one of the few volunteers with an interest in/experience with literature articles. I'm wondering if you would care to take a look at Agrippa (a book of the dead); it's quite an interesting topic, but the article needs a thorough going-over and the peer review has yet to attract anyone. Thanks for your time, the skomorokh 00:07, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

reply re:podcast

on my talk page :-)

one more little thing I thought I'd mention is that I often just pop by to participants pages and let them know that it's all online - I think that's quite nice for the folk who've taken the time to take part etc. - plus acting as a 'heads up' that it's available, of course :-) hope you're good, and I'm now off to listen to it.... Privatemusings (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

ps. the 'participants' in the podcast at the episode page are wildly inaccurate at the mo! (hint :-) Privatemusings (talk) 00:57, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
pps. something odd happened to the file at about 37 minutes? - it seems to end playback mid-Raul! - I'm not sure if this is me, or a problem with the file, or what - if you take a look and are as mystified as me, perhaps consider bunging the original recording up onto mediafire.com or somewhere like that, and dropping me a link - dunno what's up at this point...
