User talk:Sburton17/signature whistle

You’ve written some great additions to the signature whistle article. I really like the introduction where you’ve added citations in areas that were missing them, as well as added important introductory information. This paragraph is well done.

It was a great idea to add “of signature whistle” to the title of the identification paragraph. It might be good to start the second paragraph of this section with your sentence that says “Signature whistles of bottlenose dolphins can be recorded in the wild or in captivity” just as a general statement to lead into the rest of the paragraph. I think it might also be beneficial to explain the sentence about frequency modulation pattern a little bit further to provide some context. I like how you’ve edited portions of the original paragraph to make it more concise and relevant.

You’ve made a lot of good contributions to the development paragraph. The information about how calves learn their whistles is really interesting. I think this section might benefit from further clarification about how the whistles are learned. There is a sentence there stating they learn from their mothers, but also from adults they do not spend time around, so perhaps adding a few more sentences and citations might help to clarify. The section on other factors that influence the whistle is a really great addition to the article.

You’ve added some useful information to the between groups paragraph as well. The use of statistics here is really great. Your contribution to this article is really well developed. I think the main thing that could be improved is perhaps adding some more information in areas to clarify what is being said. This article has great sources, a neutral tone and is really well organized. Good job!
