October 2008 edit

You rely on a single scale for everything and your temp comparison is wp:or. The US government calls Everglades National Park, which is further south the "only subtropical preserve in North america" [1]. I will go with their assessment over your wp:or analysis.

  • The scales you are using aren't OR. Your analysis is. Find a reference that says it is tropical and use it. Niteshift36 (talk) 02:34, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

    • Are you aware that the Koppen Scale isn't the only scale in existence? Other methods have revised it. To get to your definition, you have to do the math and it barely makes this avg. But that is wp:OR. I am providing a NPOV source, the NOAA, who knows more about the climate than you and I combined, and they state, very plainly, subtropical. Also, if you look at the article on subtropical, you will see examples of 2 revisions of the Koppen scale, a map that shows Ft. Myers would be subtropical and the use of FL as an example of subtropical. Can you provide a NPOV source more reliable than NOAA that SAYS tropical (not requiring wp:or to arrive at a conclusion)? • When I said a source, I meant one that could be used as a reliable one. I can give you literally dozens of travel websites etc. that say subtropical. I've lived here for almost 30 years and listened to our meteorologists call it subtropical. Wonder why they think that? Do you think maybe because NOAA thinks so too? And I looked, the temps shown in article do not match the source for a few months. Usually only 1-2 degrees off and I haven't bothered to do the math, but IIRC you said it was 18.1 and the standard was above 18 didn't you? Niteshift36 (talk) 00:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • The avg. in Jan, according to the weather channel, was 18 celsius. Not above 18, but 18. Niteshift36 (talk) 01:19, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Look man, I don't know about what math you are doing and stuff. I know that guy put up a govt. website that say subtropical and you're trying to use some tourism site. Seems like he has a better source. 170.216.4.1 (talk) 05:20, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Miami edit

Please stop changing the information in the climate section; Miami is not in a "tropical monsoon" climate zone, and there is consensus for the current wording with the given reference. If you would like to make a change, propose it on the talk page as opposed to edit warring. Another reversion will mean you have broken the three revert rule, and users violating this rule may warrant a block from editing for up to 24 hours. -- Raime 23:26, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Miami, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. El Greco(talk) 00:56, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Synthesis edit

Thank you for your recent contributions to the Bermuda article. While the Wikipedia community appreciates your efforts to increase the amount of information on the site, we cannot accept sources which appear to be the original work of the editor. If the material you added can be attributed to a reliable source, you may add it back if you cite it. This increases the reputation of Wikipedia as a whole and aids in the verifiability of the article. It appears that you are putting together material to reach a novel conclusion that is not in any of the sources, which is contrary to our policy (see WP:SYNTHESIS).  JGHowes  talk 00:39, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Bermuda. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.  JGHowes  talk 02:09, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removing sourced material, as you continually do in the article on Ft. Myers, FL is considered vandalism. If you want to ifigure out how to add your NPOV sourced info, fine. But continuing to remove sourced information will be reported. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:59, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Actually, you are the one removing it. The article has always said subtropical, until you came in and removed it. All I've done is RESTORE the information that has been there all along. Niteshift36 (talk) 16:12, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
