File:Freebsd logo.svg edit

Hi - just noticed your FreeBSD logo in SVG format. In my browser at least, the colours don't seem to match those of the logo as shown at www.freebsd.org - your logo seems to be mostly shades of orange and grey, whereas the one on the FreeBSD website is in shades of red. Do they look the same to you? Regards, Letdorf (talk) 11:40, 19 April 2010 (UTC).Reply

It depends on which browser you use. Some don't fully support SVG. But yes, it looks great in mozilla firefox: http://img227.imageshack.us/i/screenshotjm.png/ -- download either firefox or inkscape and check it out: http://www.inkscape.org --Sav_vas (talk) 02:23, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh wait... I think I understand what you meant. It's not my logo by the way, it's from http://www.freebsd.org/logo.html - anyway, that's the way it is created: http://www.freebsd.org/logo/logo-basic.svg --Sav_vas (talk) 02:29, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just read this: http://blog.elzapp.com/2010/01/17/freebsd-logo-unavailable-for-bsd-and-linux-users.html - Perhaps we ought to use http://streambag.se/files/freebsdlogo.svg ? --Sav_vas (talk) 02:39, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Winehq logo glass.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Winehq logo glass.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 21:12, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

:) --Sav_vas (talk) 08:01, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!) edit

The Wikipedia Library gets Wikipedia editors free access to reliable sources that are behind paywalls. Because you are signed on as a medical editor, I thought you'd want to know about our most recent donation from Cochrane Collaboration.

  • Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization that conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library.
  • Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account.
  • If you are still active as a medical editor, come and sign up :)
