May 2016 edit

Hello, I'm The Masked Man of Mega Might. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Vittal Mallya seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. The Masked Man of Mega Might (talk) 14:49, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Arun Jaitley edit

Please read our policy on original research and synthesis. The source says The Congress issued a statement asking, "Whether Vijay Mallya met and spoke to finance minister, Arun Jaitley before he suddenly left the country on 2 March, 2016? Whether Arun Jaitley informed and gave details of this conversation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi? Will the complete details of this meeting and conversation be shared with Parliament and people of India?’’ It does not translate to "he has been accused of assisting Vijay Mallya in leaving from india by informing him in a meeting just the day before Vijay mallya left about the escalation of investigations against mallya" Anyhow, this material is not apt for the lede part of the article which is supposed to be a summary of the page. Instead of reverting yet again, please discuss this on the article talk page first. The Masked Man of Mega Might (talk) 22:52, 3 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

June 2016 edit

Hello, I'm Nairspecht. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Mukesh Ambani, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You did not cite any sources and only relied on other pages for your content. It is alright if you add controversial content on bio pages but they ALWAYS have to be supported by sources despite of having separate pages (Niira Radia, et al.) Also, there is no mention of the personality in Krishna Godavari Basin. Also, summarizing the content and writing it in your own opinionated words is not accepted on Wikipedia. See WP:POV Best, Nairspecht Converse 09:43, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

In addition to Nairspecht's excellent advice, I would like to add (since perhaps you don't know this) that Wikipedia is not considered a reliable source for Wikipedia articles, and thus, external sources that cite Wikipedia for their information are also not used as sources here. This is particularly important in the case of biographies of living people. More information here.

As for adding speculation and unverified rumour, it is a good rule of thumb that any addition of text including phrases like "it is assumed" or "this raises speculations" is inappropriate. If in any doubt at all, always discuss on the article's talk page first.

Finally, this kind of attack on other editors is unacceptable. Please remember to assume good faith in your interactions with other editors, just like you would expect them to do with you. Comment on edits, not on editors. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 09:52, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

October 2016 edit

Hello, I'm Yintan. I noticed that in this edit to Tourism in India, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Yintan  11:08, 1 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
