ANI discussion edit

Your swift response to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Something strange for you to consider is required, with an explanation of what is going on. Daniel 11:26, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I created that account and had it blocked to create mischief. Salad Days 14:03, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
You've been blocked indefinitely. - CHAIRBOY () 14:49, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh Salad Days, you're such a good contributor! I wish you hadn't done that. Hopefully you will appeal in order to lighten your block. The Evil Spartan 14:46, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that does seem a little severe. Salad Days 14:50, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Maybe you should have thought about the consequences before you did this. Sean William 14:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
The consequences apparently have no sliding scale? It's either "you're blocked," or you're not? Salad Days 14:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. Stupid thing to do? Yes. Indef block? No. Too far. We don't indef block valuable regulars who lose their cool once. We don't even indefblock regular vandals who do that. This is hardly a preventative block. This user probably could have become an admin if he/she had wished. The Evil Spartan 14:55, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree with The Evil Spartan that an indef block for a first offense is a bit unfair. Jayden54 17:30, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your support. Good luck! Salad Days 19:13, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
The block isn't punishment, it's to protect the project. This wasn't a silly prank or a 3RR, it was a premeditated disruption of high order. He registered a username and committed deliberate vandalism with it to get it blocked. This user will probably not become an admin, not with this misstep in judgment as an indicator. - CHAIRBOY () 17:42, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not the first time, either... [1]. Endorse indef block. Daniel 23:49, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Missing image Image:Bulwer'sPheasant.jpg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Bulwer'sPheasant.jpg, by Strangerer (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Bulwer'sPheasant.jpg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Bulwer'sPheasant.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:59, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Planning another dead-end page update? edit

It's been a while since the last one - "my" T section is just about empty. But more editors seem to have become active on the other pages after the N-way split, so I understand it if you want to wait a while still... --Alvestrand 08:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cool Beef edit

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Cool Beef, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 172.129.222.212 12:06, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Icehelmet.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Icehelmet.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Unspecified source for Image:AnrLogo.svg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:AnrLogo.svg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:36, 16 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 21:36, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Ata island.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ata island.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:41, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hardboiledeggz edit

The article Hardboiledeggz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:BAND. Award won is not a major music award, no other assertion of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. File source problem with File:Religions.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Religions.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:23, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Green Corps edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Green Corps, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Proposed deletion of List of postal codes in Croatia edit

The article List of postal codes in Croatia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTDIRECTORY: consensus to delete "just a list of postal codes" articles demonstrated in previous AfDs ([2], [3]).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. asilvering (talk) 04:34, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
