Hi

Hi Saber. Its always nice to find someone local to chat with (even if I actually live in the boonies in Ashland). I looked at the way you have your userboxes set up, and I have to admit that I'm jealous. I have tweaked and tweaked trying to set mine up in a nice, organized way, but now I will probably just steal yours. Thanks! Have a nice day (or evening) and I'll see you around.Vicjm 05:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

On behalf of all the staff at KLDK

You have earned the Thumbs Up Award for your keen eye and good follow-up on the sorts of details that make wikipedia a better and better place every single day

(and the pathetics), I would like to award you the seldom coveted Thumbs Up Award for catching a spelling mistake and making KLDK a better place to visit. Carptrash 21:19, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

I am off to do my show OMAR's DANCE PARTY on KLDK in about 30 minutes. I'm doing the music of Linda Ronstadt. What request would you (or someone near to you) like? Carptrash 01:58, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
"Love is a Rose, going out to Saber girl and her Mom, somewhere in America" in about an hour. Maybe I'll play 'Somewhere Out' there after it? Carptrash 02:29, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm doing live radio now so this will not be perfect, but you need to mention Linda sooned in the article. But it looks good Carptrash 03:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
It is looking good. You might have even gotten a thumbs up for it - but two in a day has NEVER been done. And probably never will. Here is more about life at KLDK [1]

It is my advertising compaign - and Brandy (the big guy) and me (in red) picking what to play. Carptrash 04:04, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

If I were expanding Love is a Rose

I'd make sure that Linda is mentioned in the article, that Peter Asher gets a nod, then I go someplace like [2] and start figuring out who the session musicians were who played on that cut. chances are some of them can be linked too. I'm off to help an 80 year old friend with some computer stuff now, but I will be back. You might want to find a date for the recording too. Carptrash 15:48, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

You might also check into the origin of the song and the Neil Young tune Dance, Dance, Dance, which was recorded by Crazy Horse, (Neil Young's sometime backing band) on their first album. I think some of that should go into the article. Carptrash 02:33, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Americanising (sic!) spelling

Hi,

I reverted your changes to Yemeni Arabic, because all of your changes were either 1) incorrect (approximant -> approximate), and hypercorrection (these are both linguistic terms, and approximant is a totally different word from approximate), or 2) Americanising British spelling (e.g. -ise -> -ize), which is only appropriate if the article is more in the American sphere, which does not apply in this case. Both standards are acceptable, just going around changing them isn't. You might want to check out what not to change at American_and_British_English_spelling_differences. And there is a policy page on this somewhere, OK found it Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English. Have fun making wikipedia a better place to be! Drmaik 19:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

hey, that was a quick reply. Glad you took my comments so well, and keep up the good work you're doing. Drmaik 19:32, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Just so you know

Just so you know, Sabrina, for Love is a Rose, lyrics are generally copyrighted, so at Wikipedia we don't put them on pages, unless you have written proof from the Artist that it can be used, which we rarely get. --Cheers! :) Zazzer 21:59, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello too!

I enjoy it when somebody just drops me a note for really no reason other than to say hi -- it makes me feel special :-) I wish you a happy day as well (and many more)! -- 22:30, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Saber, #1.) We are all weird somehow, so if you are, don't feel bad! #2.) My advice is stay away from posting / sharing pics online... #3.) Your efforts here at Wikipedia rock :) Stay safe & Keep up the good work! AnyA 18:10, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

My first award!

Greetings to you, lady!

I thank you for this award, really. Is there any particular reason for it, or just counted people who have a lot of edits?

Keep well!

Spelling

Hi Saber girl. When you are correcting spelling, as in Steve Waugh just recently, please keep in mind the Manual of Style's guidelines on different varieties of English. In particular, articles about Australians should use Australian spelling, and spellings of words like "criticised" should not be changed without reasons like this. JPD (talk) 15:13, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

No worries! Just keep an eye out for things like "-ise" and "-our". They seem to be the most common differences! JPD (talk) 15:55, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes, "programme" is another spelling for "program". It's not as widespread as things like "flavour", but it's probably best not to change it if you come across it. Hope this helps! JPD (talk) 16:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi!

Thanks for the greeting! Jackryan 20:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Thanks, I have blocked the IP address for a day. The next time, you may want to report the vandal at administrators' intervention page. - Mike Rosoft 21:51, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey Sabrina! Anyways as for my help, well it seems that an admin looked into it and deleted it, so no help needed from yours truly. -- Cheers :) Zazzer 22:56, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Love is a Rose

Pages about songs and singles can be more than a stub. For a featured article, you could look at the Rolling Stones song (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction as an example. I wasn't sure about lyrics myself, hadn't mentioned against it as I thought it added length at the time. - JVG 13:17, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Good going, Keep it up ;) - JVG 13:35, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

RE:Smile

I'd rather not see any kind of spam proliferating in wikipedia. It is one thing to smile on an occasion, it is totally other to burden overloaded wikipedia servers just for fun of it. `'mikka 17:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

I'd also suggest you to be more selective in greeting new users like User talk:Distorted88, User talk:Happyhacker101 and other trolls and vandals. `'mikka 17:27, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Creating of the First Article

Okay, I need a bit of advice...

I'm making my first article. It's for the video game website, Gamebanshee. I'm not really sure of how the layout of the article should look, so right now I'm just doing my own thing. I'm gathering information from the site itself and also from the owner, via email. My first source is obvious, although I'm unsure of how to cite the other. There is no documented proof that what I say is true, and is unverifiable aside my own good word. I'd like my first article to be good, but I'm not sure how to do so with a hole like this. Any suggestions? Speedman336 04:04, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Your editor review

At Wikipedia:Editor_review/Saber_girl08, You forgot to follow the directions all the way through - Number 2: Do not save the new page yet!. Replace "STATEMENT" in the edit box at the bottom of the page with a brief message about yourself and why you want to be reviewed. And I don't see your name on Wikipedia:Editor_review - Number 5: Add '''{{Wikipedia:Editor review/USERNAME}}''' (replacing USERNAME with your user name, i.e. {{Wikipedia:Editor review/Saber girl08}}) to the top of the list on the Editor Review page.

And you have some spelling errors you might want to clean up :)

Just some thoughts for you... -- Whereizben - Chat with me - My Contributions 13:36, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

malice userbox

I assume you are a fan of Malice becuase of an edit you did if you do like malice, if you are a fan why don't you put this malice userbox on your page to show malice spirit, you don't have to if you where just fixing something or just don't want to.

This user is a fan of Malice.

Hello Saber

What I think you have discovered in Saran District is what I call Indian English. That is to say it is a dialect of English as spoken/writen in India. There are many such dialects and as the Indian presence on wikipedia expands there will be more and more articles like this one. Because I have an interest in India -I lived there for 5 years as a kid (long story) - I have worked on some of these article and discovered more - to the point where I realized that fixing them could be a full time job. I am not much of a labeler of articles since I feel that most of that consists of editors telling other editors what to do, and I mostly don't do that. So go in, make what changes seem to improve the article and then move on. I am semi-retired from editing, but this does not include ignoring my friends. Carptrash 15:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Your AIV report of 64.39.113.223

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! Natalie 17:05, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: edits to user pages

Please do not cleanup user pages as you did with User:ZiebaneTm, please leave them as they are (unless they obviously break a major wiki rule). Thanks in advance --Samtheboy (t/c) 13:01, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Manual of Style

During a recent edit [3] of the One SeaGate article, you un-fixed the capitalization on the "External links" section header. You may not be familiar with the Manual of Style for Headings, but this guideline specifies that only "the first letter of the first word and any proper nouns" are capitalized. Not a big deal and it was easily fixed, but I wanted to give you a heads-up. --Kralizec! (talk) 22:18, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
