Re: Thank you edit

You're most certainly welcome S harp44, thank you for your thank you, and your message. For being a newbie, it looks like you are catching on quickly, and that's a good thing! Rather than get in your way, I'll swing by again to do a quick wikification... and will check back again before I complete my session to see how things are progressing. The best advice I can give you at this point, is to just keep editing... and have fun! Feel free to drop me a note if you get stuck with anything along the way.    -- WikHead (talk) 17:28, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Page deleted edit

Yikes! It seems I edit so many articles, that I can't actually remember this one. It appears to have been deleted per AfD (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pexco, LLC for details and reasons). I'm rather surprised to see that the nominator didn't notify you about this. Because I'm unable to see exactly what was deleted, my best advice would be to contact Mark Arsten (talk · contribs) (the admin who closed the AfD) to ask if the article could possibly be UN-deleted and userfied or incubated as a user-space draft. You will however need to convince him that you'll be able to properly address the concerns raised by the AfD nominator. There are other admins who are willing to provide users with deleted copies of their works, but I would not recommend recreating the article unless you are 100% sure that you've fully addressed the AfD concerns. I hope this helps answer at least some of your questions.  -- WikHead (talk) 21:45, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

PS - Oops, I guess you are already aware of the AfD... I didn't see any indication of that when I first read your post on my talk-page.  -- WikHead (talk) 21:52, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Thanks for Input edit

Hello again S harp44, and thank you for your message. Perhaps it would be helpful for me to mention that my personal comfort zone is usually found with editing music related articles (band articles and musician biographies in particular)... With this in mind, I'll attempt to use it [my comfort zone] as a platform to help answer some of your reference quality questions. In general, WP:PRIMARY sources (such as a band's official website) are not considered reliable, nor are other self-published works such as Twitter, Myspace, Facebook... etc. This also extends to other books, articles, websites (etc.) that have been written by the band, their management, their record label (etc). There may also be "conflict of interest" concerns related to articles or source material written by the band's friends, family members, or even professional writers they've hired. Interviews (where band members discuss themselves) are usually not considered reliable either, even if they have been published by a reputable source. Even worse, is content sourced by fan-sites, fan-blogs, fan-submitted videos and opinion polls, discussion forums, etc. The text-links I've provided in this reply go into much greater detail. I realise you are not writing about a band, but I'm hoping this information can still act as a helpful, common sense guide to finding and recognising high quality source material for your purpose. As for your questions about [explain(ing) the difference between undeleting and userfying vs. incubating as a user-space draft] - they are probably best answered by WP:USERFY, WP:INCUBATE, and WP:UNDELETE, as I've never actually used any of these myself. On the other hand, if you would rather rewrite the entire article from scratch, I'd highly recommend using WP:AfC (articles for creation) or starting a new user-space draft by clicking the "my sandbox" link that appears in the very top row of text on any wiki-page when you are logged in. I'm not sure how useful I could be to your article, but would be more than happy to keep an eye on your draft, edit, and offer further suggestions if I was aware that such a draft existed. Whatever you decide, please feel free to keep me posted. Good luck!    -- WikHead (talk) 23:35, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
