License tagging for Image:Rupert degas 4438.JPG.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rupert degas 4438.JPG.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:10, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

39 Steps edit

Hi, on the contrary, theatre is great - the primary reason I shortened your text was that the pages you added it to are specifically about the 1935 film and a disambiguation page. In both cases, these type of sections are supposed to be short links to pages elsewhere. As you suggested, it would be excellent to create a new page about the play at The 39 Steps (play) or The 39 Steps (2006 play), which you can actually do yourself. The text you added is available here. I suppose the other reason is that I can't help seeing a slight conflict of interest in terms of our neutral point of view policy, assuming that you are indeed Rupert Degas. However, as long as the information is properly referenced in the article, this shouldn't be a problem. Indeed, if you are Rupert Degas, then you would be excellently placed to help improve Wikipedia's articles about theatre. Bob talk 20:29, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Rupert Degas.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Rupert Degas.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rupert Degas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
