I am enjoying editing wikipedia based on highways. On the arites such as Interstate 210, California i found some errors. On major junctions there is too wordy, major junctions only needs major intersections some added has been unneeded and I deleted them for reason. You also put hwy 19 which is Rosemead Blvd, that is surface street, junctions which the 605 Freeway ends is irwindale not Arcadia, and also hwy 39 meets 210 is Azusa Av, it is in Azusa not Arcadia Arcadia is a town near Pasadena, San marino, north of El Monte and Temple City. It is no where near Azusa.

Some California Highways

I have notice some interstate articles on infobox does not have shields shown such as Interstate 269. Try to avoid white spaces, it annoys readers and cause them hard time to fix it.

Block at El Toro High School

I am a sophomore student at El Toro High School, my name is Haw-Ping Shu, I enjoy studing maps and highways, I know a lot off highways in Metro Los Angeles. By the way the computer has block on wikipedia I can't remeber the IP Adress. I look on their user page I figure on they say reason of block is Repeat Vandalism for several days. I have seen the talk pageof what they vandalize but I hadn't look at the history see what the user does in case the use vulgar language which is inappropriate to SVUSD. I don't know what type of vandalism he is doing. I don't get what this guy did things this bad and cn you tell me why he got block for almost a year?

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.8.121 (talkcontribs) 06:18, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

If you got an account, a lot of the problems would be fixed. Also, your edits to I-210 are not conforming to WP:CASH. CA-19 and 39 must be mentioned since 210 is a shorter route, and 19 and 39 are the legal designation. There may be errors in the cities as I estimated, but considering the mass volume of edits that you make that do not conform to WP:CASH that must be reviewed, I am forced to simply revert all the changes you have made to specific pages for the sake of time.
In regards to the shield issue, check WP:USRD/S for the deal with that. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 06:21, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

My departure

I'll probably back in time. Think of it as more of a semi-permanent wikibreak. I may check in as an IP from time to time, and if/when I come back, it will probably be under a different username (which may or may not be through a formal change). -- NORTH talk 22:57, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

WP:N/HWY

You miss the point entirely. I am completely disinterested in your topic -- absolutely neutral. I am interested in the notability project and thus am protective of proliferation from meaningless rule-sets which do not represent consensus. To say that people who are not involved are not qualified to make a determination is fallacious logic. The longer you labor in vain the more emotionally vested you will be in this failed endeavor. --Kevin Murray 02:55, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

  • You miss the point entirely. I don't.
  • I am completely disinterested in your topic -- absolutely neutral. Apparently not, as you feel that it's worthwile to debate regarding this highway-related topic.
  • I am interested in the notability project and thus am protective of proliferation from meaningless rule-sets which do not represent consensus. That's cool. This is not a meaningless rule-set, and it represents consensus, which does not equal unamity.
  • To say that people who are not involved are not qualified to make a determination is fallacious logic. Specifically, your agitating against this proposed policy and then tagging it {{reverted}} just because you don't like it is falllacious logic.
  • The longer you labor in vain the more emotionally vested you will be in this failed endeavor. First of all, this is not in vain, and secondly, I've been through SRNC. I've seen the worst Wiki can offer, and this doesn't even come close. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:21, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Proposed Interstate highways

i found on http:www.interstate-guide.com that future and proposed interstate highways also have Interstate 61 in Mississipii, Interstate 63 also has demand on Alabama, Interstate 92 and 98 also has demand onver northeastern states. If you have any informations, I give you sections so you can fill them out.

Proposed 3-digit interstate

My studies and researches to www.interstate-guide.com also point out there is more proposed interstate the crimson link is. You can create these articles and make those links blue. I also heard about new proposed Interstate 338 in San Francisco bay Areas These interstate highway has also been mentioned:

  • Interstate 570 in Missouri
  • Interstate 364 in Missouri

And also you say create account, dealing with shield problems will be easier does this mean preventing them from being white-out?Are there any other helpful thing about creating an account. I don't have one yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.8.121 (talkcontribs)

Much of what is at Interstate Guide is speculation. Speculation is not allowed on Wikipedia. To create an account, click the link at the top right of the page. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:47, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

One year block

Was a 12-month block of 216.100.95.240 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) really that necessary? I thought user 213.189.150.86 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) did the worse. Why did you block user 216. 100. 95. 240 for one year? This is Orange County schools.people putting bad word, obviously is vandalism but user 216 100 95 240 got one year block after two week block while you only block the other one for 6 mos after 4 week block Why you need to block 216 100 95 240 for that long? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.8.121 (talk)

I didn't block 216.100.95.240: someone else did. You will need to ask the admin who blocked that IP. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 02:48, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Blue tags clean ups

Are there any reasons the clean up tags were posted such article as Interstate 110 (California)? I didn't know which section is not compliant to WP:CASH, WP:IH or WP:MOS also some marker image only works on such articles such as U.S. Highway 90 Business (New Orleans, Louisiana) and New York State Route 878 but it doesnt work on Interstate 80 Business (Sacramento, California) or Interstate 315? And also numerous articles of Southern California Freeway Systems , the templates doesn't need to mention major communities because it is mention at the section major communities.

Kurumi entry

kurumi entry also mention of future Interstate 338 in Oakland areas, prop Interstate 364 in Missouri. They did mention when Interstate 355 was originally planned as Interstate 455. The also mention where Interstate 177 was planned signature in Ohio, or Interstate 144 originally proposed?I wonder if you trust that website.

California State Highway 47

Told you the freeway is never planned to meet the 10. Before when you add the purple line plus the 405, 91 freeway plus 22 mile on template, you keep reverting it, now yourealized and changed it to what it was now. --— Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.8.121 (talk)

  • Please sign your edits. Compare the structures of articles with the cleanup tags to what the standards are- then you will know what the problems are. Kurumi is not a reliable source. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 02:09, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Back on the wiki

Now that I've finished up with several Real Life(TM) tasks, I am available again to work on the Roads in Maryland WikiProject - and I've noticed that some of my previous work is a bit out of date!

I'm letting you know that I've come back and will be participating in the Roads in Maryland WikiProject and trying my best to follow the rules&regs of that project and the U.S. Roads WikiProject too. I guess I'll have to start rummaging through the history logs of the WikiProject pages to find out what changes I need to make to the articles I've worked on - can you point out which changes are major? -TheOneKEA

You probably got removed from both projects for inactivity, but you can re-add yourself :)
Maryland went through some changes I believe, but I haven't really kept up with those changes... sorry about that.
In terms of USRD, ELG and major junctions probably got changed. We have more GAs and FAs, had all the cleanup templates TFD'ed and kept, had most of the Canada projects deleted, had an IRC meeting, started Wikipedia:Notability (highways), and restructured the newsletter. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:20, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Issue #4

After a three-month hiatus, the fourth issue of the WP:NJSCR newsletter is out, by me, Mitchazenia. The foruth issue of the WP:NJSCR newsletter celebrates the passing of New Jersey Route 18 for Good Article Status. 18 is only the third NJ-based road to reach that rank with Interstate 295 (Delaware-New Jersey) and Pulaski Skyway being the other 2.

Project News
  • A to-do list has been posted on the project page, with a more detailed version at WT:NJSCR#To-do list. The simple version:
    • Ensure that all freeway exit lists are up to exit list guide standards.
    • Make sure all infoboxes have the new maint= parameter.
    • Make sure the straight line diagram is properly referenced in the infobox.
    • Add a major intersections table to each article.

Blue tags cleanup

Several Interstate highways such as you post blue tags to Interstate 275 (Michigan) please explain the reason like not properly cite or the exit list needs color seperation because of special notice. i couldn't tell what part is not compliant to WP:USSH

Interstate 110 (California)

please specifiy the reason you add blue tag to article like not proprly cite? Or some sections don't belong to this article?

Interstate 80 Business (Sacramento, California)

And also, the article Interstate 80 Business (Sacramento, California) i though eventually the I-9 numbering might take over the BUS 80 to avoid confusions.

Interstate 210 (California)

If it is because section of Foothill Bouelvard is not needs you need to remove it and place it on seperate page, and on Interstate 5 in California, arnt there any reason the toll enterance signature is highlight in yellow?

U.S. Route 90 Business (New Orleans, Louisiana)

Didn't you color the crossing border on Interstate 520 light blue. you didn't do the same thing to U.S. Route 90 Business (New Orleans, Louisiana).

New York State Route 878

Don't SolCal Freeway articles need major intersection lists. I found out some articles like Interstate 278 uses Exit lists, but New York State Route 878 uses major intersection tables. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by [[Special:Contributions/{69.105.96.36 (talkcontribsinfoWHOIS)}|{69.105.96.36 (talkcontribsinfoWHOIS)}]] ([[User talk:{69.105.96.36 (talkcontribsinfoWHOIS)}|talk]]) 19:12, 22 June 2007

CA State Route 192

A local of Santa Barbara and Goleta, California, I can attest that the intersections are not 'old' as you stated on the SR 192 talk page. All of them are signed clearly as of July 2007. --hello, i'm a member | talk to me! 06:40, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

"Old" refers to the fact that the coding on the talk page is old. In 2007, all of the junctions tables were done in a new format not requiring a HTML table. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 15:12, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

An important letter

Dear roads editor,

You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.

This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.

After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.

The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.

In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.

For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.

In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.

All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.

In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

Regards,

Interstate 15 in Arizona

I nominated this on Template talk:Did you know; you may wish to look it over and see if anything can be improved. --NE2 23:53, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

To be honest, I think it looks good. I suppose a major cities box could be added, but I'm not even sure if there are major cities. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 00:01, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

About Interstate Highways in Los Angeles

I'm still not sure about the rule of major junctions. Because on I-405 the CA-22 doesn't need to mention on junction table. On I-110 we only include i-105 on major junctions. on I-605 only interstate highways are mention. On CA-110 we only include US-101 on major junctions? What's the difference? --Freewayguy 789194 (Any questions? - My updates) 00:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

You only list about 6-10 major junctions on any routebox due to space concerns. However, 9-10 are a bit of a stretch. 2di then 3di interstates have precedence, followed by U.S. Routes, then followed by state routes. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 18:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Road stubs

I had not decided yet. I will typically AWB them, but if I don't get to it quickly, Alai often bots those with Alaibot. If you want to help out (because it will take a while to get to them all), feel free. ~ Amalas rawr =^_^= 18:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Los Angeles freeway

Then why we don't mention I-405 on I-110 infobox? --Freewayguy 789194 (Any questions? - My updates) 00:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

We should. Also, feel free to join WP:HWY/IRC for collaboration. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 18:59, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Shouldn't CA-22 also be mentioned on the I-405 infobox junctions? The 22 is also the most major junctions. You see the CA-22 is highlight in pale turquoise on the old junction tabe?

--Freewayguy 789194 (Any questions? - My updates) 00:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

    • No. All the junctions listed already are more major than 22, and we've hit the 7ish junction limit. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:58, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Shouldn't the 163, 94, and 54 be mention on the table of Interstate 805? They would only make it the 7 jct limit.

--Freewayguy 789194 (Any questions? - My updates) 00:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

    • Yes... but to be honest, with most of the California articles, the junctions that need to be there are already there. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 02:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

About interstates renumbering

Didn't Long Beach Freeway renumber from California 7 to Interstate 710 in 1985? Because the Floodgap old archeive 1984 maps shows Long Beach Freeway was still signed as CA-7 at that time. My guess is the renumber process takes gradual step. I thought was like summer 1984 is when they start to replace shields because approval is in June 1, 1984, in March 1985 there might still be CA-7 signs existing. Beacuse the 1984 still cosider L.B. Freeway as CA-7 I think is 1985 is when whole route renumber to I-710. Freewayguy ( Any questions? - My updates) 02:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah I know it changed, but I can't give you any more specifics on that. Sorry about that... --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 05:34, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Shields use in Southwestern states

I thought currently the interstate shields in New Mexico and Arizona still use state sheild making it look ruby, white, and blue. How come we don't have NM and AZ state sheilds. Even the current US Charts shade in blue shows they use all state shields. NM and AZ is still one of them. I don't think the black states such as MT and WA ever used state shields before. By the way weren't you around when the I-710 used to be 7. Because I thought was 1985 when the Long Beach Freeway transfer the 7 shields to I-710. Because I believe in 1984 the CA-7 shield still exist on Long Beach Freeway. When you have drove on it you might see some CA-7 shields, some I-710 shields or both of them stacked together. I think was 1984 when the I-880 decommissioned at Sacramento areas, and became I-80. The I-80 on the southern side of Sacramento swapped the blue I-80 to Greenloop Bus 80 (hidden I-305). Freewayguy789194 (Any questions? - My updates) 20:40, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm really not an expert at shields- you'll have to ask WT:USRD/S about that. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 21:12, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

State Route 78

No, the edits Artisol2345 and some anonymous user damaged the junction table. Look at the page history first the next time you feel like accusing someone of screwing up an article. -Branddobbe 04:02, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

State Route 78

Hello. If you thought that I would've damaged the junction table, I don't see it in any of my contributions in the edit's history. And don't try to think I was intentionally screwing it up. I only fixed broken links and replaced some Interstate shields with the ones that include the "California" labels on them as those junctions are all located in the state of California. Artisol2345 05:49, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

This edit put a ref right in the middle of a link, breaking it. I'm not saying taht you did it on purpose; I'm saying please be careful and check what you're doing. I've made plenty of mistakes with wikitables when I wasn't being careful. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 05:55, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

    • Ensure that all freeway exit lists are up to exit list guide standards.
    • Make sure all infoboxes have the new maint= parameter.
    • Make sure the straight line diagram is properly referenced in the infobox.
    • Add a major intersections table to each article.

Your revision

A user should be able to remove comments from their own talk pages. That message was produced by a bot and I do not like automated messages sitting on my user page. Plus, I am already aware on signing comments; I forget to do it sometimes. Artisol2345 17:29, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

However, it is highly frowned upon to remove such notices from your talk page by the Wikipedia community. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 17:33, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
But as I said earlier, that message was made by a bot. It's not like bots have feelings or anything like that... Artisol2345 17:35, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
However, it is criticism that needs to stay on your record. Just like how you cannot remove vandal warnings from your talk page either. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 17:37, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, the edit's history is already your record. So why should those messages stay on your talk page if they are already recorded? Artisol2345 17:39, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
So that people can see them more easily. If you look at my talk page, just about every edit that has been made here is still visible. Just trust me on this one. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 17:46, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
