Your submission at Articles for creation edit

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Rashmi Singh Author. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> The Book of Chzz, Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

image deleted edit

Rrashmissingh, I have deleted File:Book Review of Rashmi Singh's book review of her debut novel Love's Journey.jpg as the licence is incorrect. The copyright remains with the original publisher and the image cannot be hosted here with a creative commons licence. - Peripitus (Talk) 12:08, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on File:Shot from newspaper- Economic Times Kolkatta Edition of Rashmi Singh's book Love's Journey.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mlpearc (powwow) 14:44, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Economic Times Kolkatta clipping of Love's Journey's book review.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Economic Times Kolkatta clipping of Love's Journey's book review.jpg, which you've sourced to Self. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mlpearc (powwow) 14:46, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Taking a picture of a copyrighted work (such as a newspaper) doesn't give you ownership of the copyright to the work. The original copyright owner (in this case, the newspaper) still owns the copyright. You can't just licence it yourself. WilyD 15:21, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note on this page. As an alternative, you may add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's userpage guidelines. Thank you. Your user page seems to be used to advertise your books. Please be aware that this is heavily discouraged on Wikipedia and should be avoided, as this could lead to an eventual block if an admin believes that you are only using Wikipedia for self-promotion. Re: your arguments on User talk:Michaelzeng7 edit

On MichaelZeng7's article you wrote:

Hi there If Tokyogirl is biased and thinks that Taming the Restless Mind is not notable it is okay. But I have already stated the popularity of the book lies in readers heart and it is widely circulated all over. The writer, she should understand comes from a area which is considered quite backward in India and then too she managed to come out from where nearly no women in recent times have been able to author a widely circulated book. She should understand how notable is the author and her work. Moreover Books chum do sell but they give honest reviews of the books. She should read the reviews of all the books that are showing there. I hope her education too is notable enough to understand all this and I know it must be then only she is selected as an editor but I doubt...She is still in school...

And as an Editor she should delete so many idle and orphan pages of Wiki... like Rashmi Singhwhat about all this? As the Taming's authors name is the same and a page can't be made on her... just wondering !! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrashmissingh (talkcontribs) 12:23, 24 August 2012 (UTC) Reply

Anyways keep rocking guys..

First off, please be aware that this is an attack against my credibility. Being a student does not mean that I am unable to know what reliable sources are and where notability is lacking. This will not get your articles approved anytime soon, let alone harbor good feelings towards you. Secondly, you need reliable sources to show notability. None of the sources you have provided show notability. Since Bookchum sells the product they cannot be considered a reliable source because they stand to gain from any information or reviews they post about the author. Not only that, but anyone can post a review on there. Not every reviewer is notable or will be a reliable source. Reviews posted to merchant sites are never usable as reliable sources. It will never be considered a reliable source. Secondly, the claims of the author being notable because she's one of a few female authors would still need to be backed up with reliable sources to show that she's actually a notable author. Female authors in India are not so rare that they gain automatic notability simply by existing. That's not how Wikipedia works. Popularity is also not grounds for keeping an article. It might mean that it could be easier to find sources that are considered reliable, but that does not give automatic grounds for notability. There are just no reliable sources for any of the articles you're creating. As for the other Singh, there are little to no reliable sources on the article, so I tagged it. That's how Wikipedia works. Simply tagging an article for notability concerns does not mean that it will be deleted. It just means that the notability is in question and at some point myself or someone else should check it for notability. Just to let you know, I'm bringing this up on the Wikipedia:Wikiquette assistance page to mediate this.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 04:19, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest edit

Hello, Rrashmissingh. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:20, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy Deletion of Taming the Restless Mind edit

Yes, I'm not exactly sure why the administrator accepted it. It really didn't read like an advertisement to me. Although I will say this, the subject just isn't notable. It has been up for months and I think it's time to stop trying. I have little faith the topic will end up in the article space this year. Luckily, there are lots of different places besides article creation you can work on at Wikipedia! Have some fun! Please don't take this personally, perhaps one day the article will have it's place in the project. Not now, maybe later. Very respectfully, Michaelzeng7 (talk) 21:09, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I am ready to wait:) Rrashmissingh (talk) 03:08, 22 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

But was going through many pages, found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Not_Just_Fate and i am astonished to see that here even merchant sites reference is accepted... Is this wikipedia all about. This site hasn't got any relevant eg - no inline citations infact!!! Can you please expain what is this? I am really upset that Wikipedia also does partiality. And this book has come after Taming... it says here 'fantastic sales'.. a peacock term acc to wiki without any cite??? Hope you bring to the notice of all who have been deleting my articlesMichaelzeng7 (talk) please see that Taming... is recovered from deletion. Why so biased after all with my submissions. Proposed deletion of File:Singh Rashmi.jpg edit

The file File:Singh Rashmi.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 22 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
