Gympie pyramid

Hi there, hope all is well. Editor Nickm57 recommended you for a review of an article I would like to upload to replace whats currently there for 'Gympie pyramid'. I am pretty new to Wiki editing, have it in my sandbox, if you like to have a look.

Cheers,

Thank you

Hello Rotideypoc41352 for your help on archiving my talk page! But how do I make those archives accessible from the main talk page? As of now there is no link in my talk page to these subpages. Thank you very much! SunDawntalk 07:22, 12 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SunDawn:
{{Archives|age=50|archivelist=User:ClueBot III/Indices/User talk:SunDawn|units=hours|bot=ClueBot III}}
The above code creates an archive box that omits the (Index) link to User:ClueBot III/Master Detailed Indices/User talk:SunDawn. ClueBot III, the only bot that can generate archive indices, will not update that to reflect lowercase sigmabot III's archiving. Doing so manually isn't worth the time and effort. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 09:17, 12 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Note to self: ClueBot III totally does update the indices to reflect whatever is on them. I guess the bot goes through all the archive subpages and updates the indices. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 06:53, 19 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lajia

Hello:

I was asked by some editors working on DYK blurbs if I would finish the c/e for Lajia so they can close the nomination which has apparently been outstanding for some time. I have done so and notified them and removed it from the GOCE Requests list. I hope you don't mind. This does not, of course, preclude you checking the references. Regards, Twofingered Typist (talk) 12:55, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I do not mind at all. Thanks for the heads-up. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 13:50, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Mapframe parameters

I see why you added the parameters, but it's really not necessary. Sometimes because of caching, it takes a little while to show the maps correctly. –Fredddie 14:33, 2 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please help fix reverted move

Please excuse the inconvenience caused. I reverted a move (Special:Diff/1044899251) because the RM at Talk:Northgate Public Services § Requested move 8 July 2021 is still open. I kind of regret it because:

  • I'm on mobile, and moving the archive subpage, Talk:NEC Software Solutions/Archive 1, is more finicky than I'd anticipated.
  • The RM's last comment was five weeks ago. It's long overdue for a close (which I prefer not to do, for the record).

Suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 21:17, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Question from Pondi Ranking (20:47, 26 October 2021)

how can i be googled on Wikipedia --Pondi Ranking (talk) 20:47, 26 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Pondi Ranking, and welcome to Wikipedia! We have no control over what Google displays in its search results. Speaking only about Wikipedia: unlike a social media account or official website, you will have little control over the Wikipedia about you. For example, if you make a movie and an independent, reputable film critic for a newspaper writes a negative review, the Wikipedia article on the movie will mention and cite that review. No one has told me how to add a reference for a post. I want to say George B Curtiss, the economic historian , economist wrote the Abraham Lincoln Protectionist on behalf of the the American Protective Tariff league, and he was an honorary member of the American Protective Tariff League. Reference George Boughton Curtiss, Abraham Lincoln Protectionist, New York, The American Protective Tariff League,1916, pg 1 I really do not think I can tell the story of protectionism on a website that covers up protectionist thought and its history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CurtissSmith (talkcontribs) 13:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your close at Norwegian Parliamentary Ombud

Thank you for closing the RM at Talk:Norwegian Parliamentary Ombud#Requested move 17 September 2021.

I some concerns about how you closed this discussion. You say "Consensus is not a vote", which is uncontentious, but you have wiki-linked to WP:RMNOMIN. Is this intended? This clearly isn't a minimum participation situation. WP:WHATISCONSENSUS would be a more obvious link. Per WP:RMCI, "Consensus is determined not just by considering the preferences of the participants in a given discussion, but also by evaluating their arguments, assigning due weight accordingly, and giving due consideration to the relevant consensus of the Wikipedia community in general as reflected in applicable policy, guidelines and naming conventions." See also WP:NHC.

Your close does not contain any evaluation of the arguments made by the participants. You have instead referred to a policy not referred to in the discussion, namely WP:NCGAL. It seems to me that this is a supervote. Had WP:NCGAL been mentioned in the discussion, it would have been pointed out that "Use official names in article titles" is a direct contradiction of WP:OFFICIALNAMES. Your interpretation of WP:NAMECHANGES here also seems unusual and, more importantly, doesn't reflect the discussion.

I will frankly say that I'm not going to take this to WP:MR because it's a bit late and I don't see how that could be a good use of the project's resources, but in similar situations in future I would ask you please to join the discussion and not close it. Havelock Jones (talk) 11:15, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for taking the time to leave me feedback. In addition to your suggestions, future closes will state clearly which arguments from which participants I am evaluating and how. If you would like a clarification of this specific close, please feel free to ask. Thanks again, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 22:43, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

ABN Assets

Hello! I wanted to give you some more information on ABN Assets. They are an active scam community that are impersonating ABN AMRO, a legitimate financial institution. They message people on facebook trying to get victims to send cryptocurrency to their website www.abn-assets.com . The entire webpage is fake and I am actively looking to take them down. The Wikipedia page is the first thing that comes up when you google the company and I noticed you added a deletion flag on the page. This flag has been removed by another user, I am not too familiar with how Wikipedia operates, but if you can help me out and get this page taken down it would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to prevent more people from getting scammed. Thank you very much, have a great day. UnrealFinancial (talk) 12:23, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Fredaniel: Please kindly do the following:
  1. start a new discussion on the talk page
  2. Put something like "question on reverted edit" in the smaller subject box on the top
  3. Start in the larger lower box with {{re|[insert username of whoever undid your edit]}}
  4. explain the reasons for your changes
  5. end it with four tildes: ~~~~
