Zionist antisemitism

@User:RolandR, I thought it might interest you that attempts are already being made to delete the entry on Zionist antisemitism, and the article itself characterized as antisemitic. I'm not surprised. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 16:45, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

September 2022

Hi RolandR! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Tony Greenstein several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Tony Greenstein, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. (This is all true even when you are in the right!). JBL (talk) 00:40, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

As I noted, my reverts were to remove a breach of BLP - the addition of "self-proclaimed" to the description of Greenstein as an anti-fascist, implying that this was untrue - and thus a legitimate exception to the rules. And I opened a discussion on the talk page, explaining this to the other editor, whose reply was a sequence of ad-hominem insults followed by a further BLP-breaching revert. RolandR (talk) 00:48, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
That is definitely not a BLP violation. I agree with you that the other editor is not charming and is unlikely to prove to be a constructive collaborator. JBL (talk) 00:53, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

Socialism

[1]

How am I edit warring with several editors? There have been 2 editors that have added this with two different citations. Each is its own separate case. One revert of one person is not an edit war. Neither is twice removing information that breaks Wikipedia guidelines via WP:SYNTH. It is up to whomever adds information of which other editors disagree with to gain consensus via the talk page if there is resistance to it (of which there has been to this label by other editors and IPs other than myself). Also, I see nowhere in the source that it says socialism is “left to far-left”, a page number should at least be provided. Helper201 (talk) 13:07, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

My apologies

Hello RolandR,

I sincerely apologize for wrongly claiming that you were harsh towards a new editor. I misunderstood your edit summary for a reversion on the Bezalel Smotrich page. Your reversion was completely reasonable given the restrictions on the page. I take full accountability for my actions and will ensure that I do not act in a similar way in the future. Moving forward, I will be sure ask for help from other editors since it is clear I need help understanding Wikipedia's policies. I hope you can be forgive me for my mistake.

All the very best,

Toomuchcuriosity (talk) 18:21, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

N.B. I overwrote my previous post from the talk page with this apology to ensure any new viewers of the talk page understand that my previous accusation of WP:BITING was unreasonable and a result of my misunderstanding.

Actually, wp:onus is yours on this.

Hello. I'm happy to work with you on Xenophobia in the United States. Specific to you, the Donald Trump section was added by you. Wp:onus is yours personally. I have reservations about the npov, the unclear RS connections to xenophobia, and the issues with synonymous use of the term anti-immigration policies. You need to discuss before adding it.

I've made many edits in about 5 materially different ways and opened 3 discussions, but you decided to revert all without addressing the cited policy for any of them. And again WP:onus is clearly on the previous additions for much of it, not on my removal. There are no previous discussions on this article.

I'm going to revert back to my most recent edit, then I welcome you to manually revert any specific area and provide policy based reasons. Then we can discuss. I'll let you know once I've got the revert back, and then I'll pause and wait for you.

If you just wholesale revert everything again without citing policies I'll consider that edit warring.

I look forward to making a good article with you. 207.236.147.164 (talk) 15:39, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

I've made the edit now. I look forward to your reasoned edits and discussion replies. Thanks. 207.236.147.164 (talk) 16:00, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
No, I did not add the section on Donald Trump. My only edit was to restore the existing section deleted by you without discussion or consensus. I do not wish to discuss this further here, please confine relevant discussion to the article's talk page.RolandR (talk) 22:09, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
You would actually have to post there first. Maybe you haven't noticed the 3 talk discussions I opened, before editing? 142.115.142.4 (talk) 00:06, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

Question

@RolandR What is your personal view of the Bosnian Genocide and Cambodian Genocide? Do you believe it is appropriate for self-described academics to question the validity of the crimes against humanity that occurred during these genocides? Does it matter to the victims of genocide whether their killers are left-wing, right-wing, or neither? Just curious. Royz-vi Tsibele (talk) 15:39, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

My personal view is of no relevance. If the mention of "self-described academics" is intended to refer to Noam Chomsky, then you reveal your own contempt for one of the world's leading intellectuals, and a person recognised universally as an important academic. And, as possibly the only Wikipedia editor to have discussed this personally with him, I can certify (though my own word is obviously not a reliable source for Wikipedia purposes) that Chomsky certainly does not deny the facts or the horrors of the Pol Pot regime, but rather questions the motives and legitimacy of Western states and media in stressing these crimes while ignoring, for example, the similar atrocities perpetrated by the pro-Western Indonesian regime. RolandR (talk) 18:49, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
@RolandR I see, I wasn't aware of that. From the sources I had gone over it seemed that Chomsky was denying the severity of the Cambodian Genocide and not just making claims about hypocrisy. Thank you for your clarification, and apologies for my previous dogmatism. Hope you have a nice day. Royz-vi Tsibele (talk) 20:25, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Rescuing Revolutionary Communist Party (UK, 1944)

Unfortunately, much of Revolutionary Communist Party (UK, 1944) has been deleted for being unsourced[2]. Would you be able to help find sources for the material and restore it with citations (and/or ask other editors familiar with the topic to do so)? Wellington Bay (talk) 13:58, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
