Settlement names edit

Did you mean to make these comments to me, or to User:Serge Issakov as well? Septentrionalis 20:23, 8 December 2006 (UTC) Reply

Barbara Biggs edit

I'm Barbara Biggs. I don't know how to make a new link to discuss my entry so am making it here. I'd also like to ask you, as I've asked Alan, why certain entries have not been asked to provide citations for the opinions cited as facct, such as in entries Satanic Ritual Abuse, Recovered Memory Therapy and The Courage to Heal. Also, as my own entry is still earmarked for deletion, when is a decision made? Thanks Barbbiggs 13:05, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'll reply on your talk page, which is customary. Robert A.West (Talk) 13:09, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Requiems edit

Hi. I did not add the category you mentioned to the article on Fauré's requiem. Deb 16:20, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

And I'm sorry about my error in categorizing Ein Deutsches Requiem. I'm not familiar with the work. Deb 16:31, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Write good articles, not Good Articles edit

You may be amused; you may wish to intervene, at Wikipedia:Good articles/Review#Johann Sebstian Bach. I know your views on citation are not exactly mine, but really, delisting because B-A-C-H is original research? I'm not maing this up, you know!. John Bullen Middle School edit

Most opinions at the AfD suggested that the article be deleted, as opposed to redirected. I followed consensus and deleted the article, then applied a redirect, like other users suggested. I would have probably just redirected if I found a significant page history, but considering the fact that the article was no more than a few lines long, I found this fruitless.

If you want, I can restore the revisions which have been deleted, so that the information can be incorporated into the target article of the redirect, but there is little (if any) information, in my opinion, which would be useful to the target article.

However, I may have been illogically thinking. Any of my actions are reversible.

If I have failed to sufficiently answer your question, please say so. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 23:25, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you are interested in becoming an admin, you may want to check out Wikipedia:Esperanza/Admin coaching. I'm not really that good of a teacher, and plus, I'm probably doing things wrong. There's some pages about the deletion process that may interest you if you eventually want to become an admin: I'd suggest Wikipedia:Deletion process, Wikipedia:Deletion guidelines for administrators, and (if you really want to be overwhelmed with policy) Wikipedia:Administrator's Manual. But don't let the paperwork scare you -- as long as you don't do something really stupid (such as delete the Main Page, or block Jimbo Wales), other administrators will politely tell you about it, then tell you steps on how to fix it. I'm not perfect -- see User talk:IanManka/Archive/7 and User talk:IanManka/Archive/8 for messages about my mistakes as an admin. Whenever you do decide to go out for adminship, good luck!
