User talk:RoadieRich/whitelist request

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Beetstra

I would suggest that this display as "Article to be used in" rather than "Page to be used on". For bonus credit, detect a namespace other than main and use "Page" rather than "Article" if such is found. Plese dispaly an {{error}} msg if this is missing also. Still this looks useful to me. Ok, I've done that. Took some figuring out, and it uses a parameter marked as "testing" on {{namespace detect}}, but it seems to work. I've also added a link the alexia info page of the website requested. I don't know if it's useful, but it will allow people to get to the page requested in two clicks (three if the requested url is badly broken - alexia will redirect to a search page), and it also includes things like a whois. I've just realised that won't work with requests such as the (recently approved) google.com/cse, so I am going to add a link to the google cache. I wasn't sure at first, but I think it works. Rich(Contribs)/(Talk to me!) 19:57, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Looks good to me. Thanks. DES (talk) 21:07, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I would suggest that this uses the {{LinkSummary}} with the domain as parameter. That template links to a whole set of information which is of use in a) finding reasons and earlier requests of blacklisting/whitelisting, etc, and b) finding information on the domain the documentation resides on. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:47, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I played a bit with it, I hope you don't mind. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:51, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
