Speedy deletion nomination of Brandon gabriel edit

Hello RichardFolk,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Brandon gabriel for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Julietdeltalima (talk) 21:49, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please don't remove speedy-deletion tags edit

While I apologize for having unfairly warned you earlier regarding removal of the speedy-deletion tag from Brandon gabriel, that wasn't meant to indicate that it was appropriate for you to remove the tag. I am reinstating the tag because I still believe that the article doesn't reflect sufficient notability on Mr. Jones' part for a Wikipedia article.

That being said, I will recommend to you that you look at a couple of things I find specifically problematic, in the event a reviewing administrator disagrees with me regarding speedy deletion: (1) Is Mr. Jones' last name "Jones" or "Gabriel"—or, to put it a better way, does he use "Gabriel" as his professional surname or professional given name? After providing the article subject's full name any subsequent references should always be to a surname, not a given name, per MOS:SURNAME (and general common-sense considerations of encyclopedic tone). (2) There are descriptions of Mr. Jones being a "partner" with various entities. "Partnership" is a very specific legal term involving a joint business venture conducted with the goal of sharing profits, not merely a marketing alliance. "To partner" is most assuredly not actually a verb. If what you mean is "marketing alliances" then use that phrase instead.

All the best to you. I hope you keep trying to write for Wikipedia; the editors here mean well, take encyclopedic writing seriously, and offer comments in the hope of encouraging good professional growth in this regard. Julietdeltalima (talk) 22:06, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Further best wishes edit

Your talk-page message crossed paths with the one I left earlier. I wanted to emphasize that I wish you well in your continued writing. It's not going to be my final decision whether this article stays or goes, and it will probably be deleted, but you actually did, relatively speaking, a pretty good job of formatting and referencing it, compared to the vast majority of folks jumping into Wikipedia in this context. All the best to you. Julietdeltalima (talk) 22:09, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Brandon gabriel edit

Hello RichardFolk,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Brandon gabriel for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

Richard, I saw your comment elsewhere that you created this page specifically to promote Brandon as part of a school project. That directly violates some of the principles of Wikipedia. See, for instance, WP:Promo. See also WP:Notability, a Twitter feed is not sufficient. JamesG5 (talk) 06:34, 4 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
