I don't know how to use unblock

• In a nutshell, you were blocked because Checkuser linked you to a previous user that was indefinitely blocked for bad behavior. This is a technical linking, although there may be behavioral reasons that have linked you. Put more simply: You have had previous accounts and have been blocked before, and there is pretty solid evidence to back up this claim. This evidence will not be shared publicly.   Something I did in 2007 means I can't edit now in 2022? That's a long grudge when I've not vandalised one page and that redlink thing I got a chance on (can't be held against me cos that's what all you admins ruled on) and haven't done anything since except see if I could use an old account I forgot about. PLEASE DON'T SKIM OVER THIS AND PLEASE READ COS I THOUGHT VERY CARFULY ABOUT MY POSITION. The ONLY thing that matters on wiki is if the edit helps the page and I have always tried to do that. Look through all of them and you'll see I tried to and discussed with admins about what I did wrong and I agreed not to and they gave me one more chance and I did not make anymore removal of redlinks. Admins don't own wiki they can't decide I'm never allowed to use this site. If I make an account in 2025 will I be banned for puppet or 2030? The og sock claim is from 2007. Where does the line end? Ok I messed up in 07 so I'm never allowed to use this site? Cards on the table I don't want to be blocked from this site forever ok? So I made an account with out vandalising because I want to be on this site and improve it. Are you the same person as you was in 07? I think the right to forget and have a clean slate. Can please not just scan though this and go nope. And think well he had an account in 2007 that was bad so do we punish him forever? Add: I have done nothing this year to deserve block to that point since the admin staff and me came to an agreement over my edits so just owning a bad account from 07 shouldn't be enough when I didn't vandalise with it when I went on there in 2022.

• A couple of notes for the reviewing admin: I did not check this account directly. Return to Monkey Island popped up in a check of an old blocked account that appeared out of the blue to request an unblock after several years. It was obvious when I ran the check that the editor making the appeal was also currently editing as Return to Monkey Island (which they do not deny). While actively editing with this account, and while their edits were being discussed at ANI, they tried to get their old account unblocked without making any note of the connection between accounts and also tried to gain access to another (unblocked) account, but failed. I see the mistakes I made now but was never trying to vandalise or evade I just felt like "ohh this account has a lot of heat on it" Maybe a new one would make it easier but then thought I'd use one's I did yeeeeears ago and the one I remembered an old pass for. I did that unblock cos I assumed someone would go "oh yh 15 years I'll unblock now" Not to be a sock troll thing but cos I just wanted a fresh start and failed badly. At the time of trying to unblock that old account I was on the understanding that the notice board thingy was over and I was allowed to keep editing so I was no trying to hide from them to escape a ban. I was trying to use a different one because in my mind there was a lot of bad blood towards me cos of it (I'm sure one of the admins hates me) so I just wanted to edit away from prying eyes waiting for me to slip up NOT to go I better make a use a new one cos there banning me cos of my vandalism because that WAS resolved and I got my point across and was told I was forgien. I had not made a bad edit since only thing against me is logging in this account. I know now I should have discloused and wouldn't have even bothered but I'm sorry I didn't know that. Just to be clear

Now Ponyo (great movie btw) told me I should have disclosed my connection when trying to get into old accounts I now understand what I did wrong and will not repeat that mistake. It was never anything but an attempt to feel less pressure editing (backfired) and I had 0 intention of spamming trolling fighting blanking or anything else other than contribute to building an encylopecia. I know I have flooded this page now but I will freely admit I'm not the best with words to someimes I think I need to add to this to really get across my point because I don't want to be blocked forever.

So let me just say I had no ill intent I now fully understand my mistake and the trolling was 15 years ago. The notice board thing was to my knowledge resolved and I didn't knowingly break a rule and what I did end up breaking isn't one that would be super clear like say don't add insults or rumors to a page. Sorry if I'm filling all this up but I'm just trying my best with limted knolleg of wiki to stay on here but the best thing I can say is I'm here to help and learn and not ruin or hurt any pages or usersReturn to Monkey Island (talk) 16:53, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

• You have a Checkuser block. I couldn't unblock if I wanted to (and I don't). Only a Checkuser can unblock you, given the status of the block. You "coming clean" now, after you have already been definitively linked to the prior accounts, hardly counts as a confession. Even if you weren't a sockpuppet, I would be against unblocking you simply because you lack the temperament and competency to participate in a collaborative environment. Both of those issues, socking and CIR/abusive attitude, means you probably should give up, as you are likely wasting your time. There are other hobbies, I suggest you find one. I understand you do not like me although I would say it's hardly fair I have to put my point across to an admin for my appeal and have someone which much more experience and knowledge of Wikipedia shot down what I'm saying when I have very little means of getting my say across when Wiki desn't proide with a defence but the prosecutors if you will are much more versed then I am.

I am not confessing so much as I wasn't aware it was against the rules and I now know what they are and will not make another account or try to use the one from years ago that I did.

Your comments about my temperament however was addressed in the noticeboard and I was given a pass/forgiven/chance (idk the right words) and as this case isn't about my temperament those comments shouldn't apply here as it was addressed and I have not attacked anyone since so that should have no bearing on this matter as it was resolved. I had no idea I had to disclose I used this account when I tried to unblock an account from 07 that I admit I used badly 15 years ago. I fully understand what I should have done now and I was never attempting to vandalise during my mistake. I am sorry for the trouble it has caused I am only here to learn and help edit constructively. I was forgiven on the noticeboard and made constructive edits after that so my only mistake was logging in a 2007 account and not disclosing about this I am sorry about this I wanted to get a fresh start not bring all this down.

Standard Offer

I will take the standard offer and will not edit in anyway for 6 months(unless an admin says something to this that needs a reply) I do think this is overkill(like the finishing moves on FFX) for logging into an old account and making a request that I regret but ok I'm a team player I would like to be able to use this account and not the 07 as this is a personal one and that was a throw away one.
