Speedy deletion nomination of My Halo Project edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on My Halo Project requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gorlack36 (talk) 15:52, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Place holders edit

There is no need for place holders in Wikipedia. If, and only if, your topics are notable, develop them in user:Registerjr/sandbox and submit them via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:17, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

How to proceed edit

You have noted on several talk pages now that you do not know how Wikipedia formatting works, but you want to create a page. Unfortunately, blank pages with only an external link to your project's website are not valid Wikipedia articles, and are generally deleted.

Your best course of action is to create a page in your own user space (for example: User:Registerjr/Help A Liberian Orphan). You can test all of your editing there, and when you have a page that you think is ready, you can move the page to the main article space.

While you're working on this, you can consult the various Wikipedia tutorials, such as Starting an article and Your first article. These will help you figure out the Wikipedia formatting syntax, and the guidelines for creating a good Wikipedia article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:17, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I see you've taken my advice and formatted the article within your sandbox before bringing it live. Nicely done! Unfortunately, you have created an article about an organization that does not assert why this organization is notable. To be sure, your organization appears to have a good and noble purpose, but so do many organizations. If your organization does not meet the criteria for inclusion (see the "notable" link), your article will be deleted. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:19, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for responding. Do I have time to find third party third party references, is this officially deleted? We will be on the Jacksonville news Wed, 25th, but I need to contact the founder to find previous third party references. When I do find them, where do I place these 3rd party references?

You have contested the speedy deletion -- that should buy you some time. Make a note on Talk:Help A Liberian Orphan, Inc. ; My HALO Project that you have independent sources to add, so that a reviewing administrator knows to wait a while. As to where to place the references, for fastest results, simply place a section at the bottom of the article titled "References" (formated as ==References==) and create a bullet list of your references. Ideally, citations should be made within the body of the article, but learning the syntax to do so may take you longer than an administrator is willing to wait before deleting. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Help A Liberian Orphan, Inc. (My HALO Project), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Notability edit

You have recreated your "HALO" page, with "new sources". Your new sources indicate that this organization exists, and has filed the proper paperwork with the Federal Government. Nothing more. You have done nothing to indicate how your organization meets the criteria for inclusion. Mere existence is not sufficient; you must demonstrate that your organization has been the subject of independent, non-trivial coverage in a book, magazine, or internet article.
