I am confused by some recent edits by an IP editor to the Restoration Hardware article... I am not sure how to handle it. I'm just confused why they removed the CEO as a key person, etc Does this need to be reported? Should I just leave it alone?

If you think it's a problem, go ahead and revert it, and then discuss why you think it's a problem on the article's talk page. Hello, I'm Unforgettableid. I thank you very much for your contributions to Wikipedia. But I wanted to let you know that one or more of your your recent contributions may be undone because some of them appear to be mistaken.

• For example, in this diff, you mistakenly removed {{news release}}, leaving some very non-neutral content on Wikipedia without the necessary {{news release}} template.
• This template removal of yours from a Stickam article section was also an accident: you failed to fully clean up the tone and stylistic issues mentioned.

Paid editors sometimes act very sneakily on Wikipedia. May I humbly suggest that, for now, you avoid removing any maintenance templates from any articles about companies, products, or services — unless you propose it on the talk page first, someone concurs, and nobody objects. This will help make sure nobody wrongly suspects you of being a paid editor.

Hi ReginaldTQ. I work on conflict of interest issues in Wikipedia. I was just following a thread of paid editing that led from other content into Joshua Tetrick and JUST, Inc., that led me to your contribs. Your edits look like those of a freelancer or PR person.

Hello ReginaldTQ. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation.
