Autopatrol and the unreviewed template edit

Hi RedLiquorice, I wanted to touch base in light of your many excellent articles created! I nominated you for autopatrol, which if approved by an admin would mean any new entries you make going forward won't require a check from a New Page Reviewer. The admin reviewing the nomination points out to me, however, that you've marked your creations with the {{unreviewed}} template, perhaps indicating that you'd prefer to continue having a reviewer check over your new submissions. Is that right? Totally fine if so, you're entirely welcome to carry on just as you have been--I just wanted to confirm that's your preference, rather than the template just being habit or auto-generated somehow (apparently it can be, though I'm not sure which tool generates it.) In any case, thanks for all your excellent work on the encyclopedia! All best, Innisfree987 (talk) 04:32, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Innisfree987, I'm happy to continue having my new creations checked by a reviewer, but I guess using the template has been more habit than anything else. Thank you for kind words anyhow! RedLiquorice (talk) 09:43, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Non-occupations edit

The opening sentence of an article is supposed to be brief, not a crammed-together resumé of everything a person has done. That's why MOS specifically says not to "overload" it. Freddie Highmore is an actor. Nestor Carbonell is an actor. That is what they are known for. Neither of them writes or directs... except in conjunction with their acting. "In general, a position, activity, or role should not be included the lead paragraph if... the role is auxiliary to a main profession of the person (e.g. do not add "textbook writer", if the person is an academic)."[1] Filling in to direct an episode or a few of a TV series that you act in doesn't make you a "director", any more than driving the delivery truck at work a few times makes me a "truck driver". It makes you an actor who got to fill in as a director. Likewise with writing, or producing a show that you star in: that's what MOS means by "auxiliary". Now, if Carbonell gets a full-time gig a director of a show he isn't acting in, that would make him a "director". And if Highmore writes or produces a TV show that he isn't starring in, and it gets on the air, that might be notable enough to add those titles to the lede and infobox. But for now, it's overloading, and it's contrary to MOS. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 21:39, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

As a rule of thumb, try this: take away their "actor" credits. Would their remaining credits (as writer, director, producer) pass WP's standards for Notability? If not, then it's not what they're notable for, and it doesn't belong in the lede. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 21:47, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Zac and Mia edit

The article Zac and Mia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreleased web series. It will potentially be notable in Wikipedia terms if it gets significant coverage in independent sources once it's released, but we don't second-guess what the reception to something is going to be.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  ‑ Iridescent 17:14, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Tiger (upcoming American film) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Tiger (upcoming American film), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. — Zawl 14:36, 9 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:What They Had poster.jpeg edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:13, 24 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:The Whispers ABC.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:The Whispers ABC.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:44, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
