Proposed deletion of Sonia Saikaley edit

The article Sonia Saikaley has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Hi Bearcat, thanks for the warm welcome! I have edited the page for Sonia Saikaley. May I ask why you are proposing deletion? There are other writers on Wikipedia with less credentials. Cheers! RSpirits (talk) 11:17, 16 February 2016 (UTC)RSpiritsReply

Sonia Saikaley edit

Even if you've changed your mind about the article's includability, as I see you've done in the AFD discussion, it's still not appropriate to erase the entire article while the discussion is still underway. You need to leave it alone until the discussion runs its course and gets closed, so that anybody new who comes along to participate in the discussion while it's still open can still see the whole context. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 23:35, 24 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, as the creator of the page, is it possible for me to have the page removed? How do I go about that? Since I set it up, can I contact an administrator to delete the page? It was a mistake to put it up in the first place since I did not understand the eligibility requirements and the writer is not qualified enough. Thanks! RSpirits (talk) 00:47, 25 February 2016 (UTC)RSpiritsReply

Yes, you can request deletion of any page where you are the only substantial contributor by putting {{db-author}} at the top; but your request here is sufficient, and I have deleted the page and closed the discussion accordingly.
I hope you are not discouraged and will continue to contribute. There is a regrettably steep learning curve, and it's impossible to read all the guidance pages in advance, so the only way to learn is by making mistakes. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:40, 25 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much, JohnCD! I really appreciate your kind words. All the best, RSpirits (talk) 11:13, 25 February 2016 (UTC)RSpiritsReply
