The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Peter Rafelson edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Peter Rafelson, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://peterrafelson.com/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 06:19, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Peter Rafelson edit

Hello RM Records,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Peter Rafelson, may be copied from http://www.rafelson.com/aboutus_personnel.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 06:53, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:RM Records edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:RM Records, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Cindy(need help?) 07:02, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Rafelson edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Peter Rafelson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Contested deletion edit

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it is all based on factual verifiable information - strictly reporting history of subject of article --RM Records (talk) 07:13, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

User name, & conflict of interest edit

Your user name suggests that it refers to an organisation rather than an individual, so you need to read WP:CORPNAME. If you decide to continue editing as an individual and with a new user name, you also need to be aware of Wikipedia's guidelines on editing articles on subjects where you may have a conflict of interest. - David Biddulph (talk) 07:23, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business listing directory, and is not for advertising or promotion of any kind.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer instead to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you prefer to change your username rather than create a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

your reason here

Decline reason:

Two things; firstly you will need to request a new username, as your current name relates, or appears to relate, to a commercial organization. To do this use {{unblock-un}}: secondly, it appears from your unblock request that you are attempting to write about yourself; this is not allowed in Wikipedia. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:42, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I am trying to get my account unblocked so I can at least try to create an original text that won't be blocked as copied. Every time I tried to edit or modify the Bio for Peter Rafelson, it was declined or blocked. Just how different from my official bio does it need to be? Thank you.

Help request edit

If I create a new user name as an individual, will i be able to create a wiki page for various companies which I own? Also, If I am prohibited from creating my own Peter Rafelson wiki page (there are numerous references to me and professional credits on other wikipedia pages), how can I have it made? Thank you for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RM Records (talkcontribs) 21:52, 14 September 2013

I have moved this down because new contributions go at the botom of talk pages, and that makes it easier to follow the conversation
If what you want is to write about yourself and your companies, Wikipedia is not the site for that. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. JohnCD (talk) 09:31, 15 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
If you, Peter Rafeslson, want there to be a page here about you you will have to wait until someone wholly unconnected with you decides to write an acceptable article, asserting notability and including valid third-party references. You cannot write about yourself, nor can you write about your companies.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 16:21, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
