Speedy deletion nomination of Purgatory the movie edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Purgatory the movie, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. October 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Purgatorymovie) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Purgatory the movie. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. QU TalkQu 22:07, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Purgatory the movie has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Purgatory-The-Movie/154324761275465.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for spamming or advertising. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

i am trying to get my point across so please can you unblock me and i am not promoting and if you think i am promoting which i am not i am only doing the same as other films that are on here e.g The Social Network,Toy Story 3 etc. i am only giving infomation about my film.

Decline reason:

We had to block you because it was the only way to get you to stop creating this article- you ignored all warnings to stop. Since you clearly state that you'd continue making the same edits, it isn't possible to unblock you. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 23:33, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You are providing information about a film that doesn't exist, which is wholly unencyclopedic and violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability, and given your username and the fact that your only edits are to a topic in which you admittedly have a vested interest, it is highly like that it is advertising. To compare this to an actual film, such as Toy Story 3, is a nonsensical argument. Please read our guidelines on notability and reliable sources. --Kinu t/c 23:27, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't usually step in on issues, just came across the page to see if the article I nominated earlier was deleted. I don't know if an indefinite block is appropriate here. There's some newpages that are pure vandalism, nonsense, attack pages, and real spam/promos that the creator doesn't receive an indefinite block for. I think the user just hasn't grasped the Wikipedia concepts yet...I'm pretty sure it's just a teenager/young adult. Have him do some homework (below on the welcome template) and if the user can demonstrate that understands why his movie was deleted then open the block.Bhockey10 (talk) 06:46, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
