Is it true that original research may not be published directly onto Wikipedia? If not, where do I publish it?

Yes, it is true: see WP:No original research, which ties in with the WP:Verifiability policy that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." As to where you could publish original research, that depends what sort of material it is: WP:Alternative outlets may give you some ideas. JohnCD (talk) 09:42, 14 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have an article I wish to publish. I went through WP:Verifiability, and it seems that if you provide references and citations in an article, it may be accepted and published. That being said, is it possible to have my article reviewed by another volunteer, and get their comment as to whether the article is publishable or not?

I have moved this down, because new contributions customarily go at the bottom of talk pages, so as to keep the conversation in order.
Yes, you can do that by clicking on Help:Userspace draft and filling in the title. That will make a draft page where you can prepare your article, with a link to submit it, when it is ready, to WP:Articles for creation, where an experienced user will review it and either accept it or give you feedback.
To avoid possibly wasting your time, first read WP:No original research carefully, and note in particular that it says:

"If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it. If you discover something new, Wikipedia is not the place to announce such a discovery."

and:

"Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources."

There is good general advice at WP:Your first article. On talk pages (but not in articles), it helps to know who said what when if you sign your contributions by ending them with a group of four "tilde" characters ~~~~, which the system will turn into a signature with your username and the time and date, like this: JohnCD (talk) 11:23, 14 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, User:Profound Anarch/sandbox/Elemental Theory edit

Hello Profound Anarch. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "sandbox/Elemental Theory".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Profound Anarch/sandbox/Elemental Theory}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:11, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
