Thomas L. Tang edit

Hello sir. Regarding the article Thomas L. Tang, you need to realise that this article must be neutral in wording and attitude, and not serve as an advertisement for the subject. As it is, it reads very much like a curriculum vitae with significant amounts of wording that belongs more in a research paper's abstract. A biography article should be much more about the person than their work and research, though certainly there is a place for that as well. Remember, our articles should be encyclopaedic in tone, not promotional. I suggest you read some of our featured articles (works that are considered the best examples this site has to offer) in the psychology area, such as William S. Sadler, Eric A. Havelock and Hilary Putnam; examine each and try to understand the style in which each is written, how their sources are cited, and how each section delves more into the person and their specific research and work, rather than simply showcasing the disciplines and specific studies they are taken part in. You may also like to read some other assorted featured articles, available at Wikipedia:Featured articles.

Further, there are a wide variety of resources available to article writers here. I would strongly suggest reading Wikipedia:Your first article, while also paying attention to the various links therein, especially the itemised links in the boxes to the right side. I should also point out Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Autobiography, which appear to have bearing here. These are strongly discouraged due to even the possibility of conflict and self-promotion, even when such is not occurring at present. My suggestion would be to go to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Psychology and/or, perhaps, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities; explain that you would like assistance in bringing your article up to Wikipedia standards, more neutral and less promotional wording, and work with them to create a more rounded article. Wikipedians do typically try to work with folk that approach them for help, especially when they are friendly and open about things. I would offer my assistance in the editing, but biographies and psychology are quite far outside my realm of understanding, though I will offer whatever guidance I can.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a reply here...I'll keep your talk page in my watchlist. Good luck, and perhaps I'll run into you on campus sometime. Huntster (t @ c) 10:04, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the tips and encouragement. I will study some of your examples listed here and go from there. It appears to me that there are so many different documents to read so that it will take some time for me to get up to par and meet your standards. I will work on it one step at a time. Thanks. All the best.

Stop edit

Please stop recreating the article(s) about yourself, and continually adding mentions of yourself to other articles. See Wikipedia:Autobiography. Wikipedia does not exist to promote you or your research. I've tried to get this point across to you previously, but you seem content to ignore suggestions. To that end, I've deleted both autobiographical articles you created about yourself (I fail to understand this...) as both expressing too little notability and being blatantly self-promotional in nature.
