Signature

Hey! I'm sure you saw the edit to WP:AIV regarding your signature, but apparently it uses font tags which are obsolete. Please change this to prevent future lint errors. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:23, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up! The signature was a carryover from my old Wikipedia days back in 2008/2009, which I carried over when I started being active again here. Fortunately WP:SIGTUT was helpful in cleaning up the old HTML tags. PritongKandule-✉️📝 17:59, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
Sounds good. Like I said, I just saw a user edit your signature to remove the deprecated font tags to prevent linter errors. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:04, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kevin Cooper (prisoner). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:31, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Fair enough, I suppose I could have handled that one better. I have no prior knowledge nor opinion of the topic in question, so all I saw was substantially sourced content being unilaterally removed (with an abrasive edit summary) despite the merits having been discussed already by other editors in the talk page. PritongKandule, in a situation like that WP:RFPP is your friend; the trick is to request protection before everything gets completely out of hand. I think we all have to remember (I certainly do, pretty often) that nothing is ever resolved by edit-warring. I've protected the page for a few days in case anyone's interested in some discussion instead. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:52, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
