Notice

Although I regularly patrol new topics and if necessary, tag them for Speedy Deletion, please do know that I'm not a bot and would most likely make mistakes. If I do make a mistake, please inform me here. ShootinPutin109 07:42, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Blanking your talk page

You don't have to blank your talk page when it gets full. Instead, you can move your talk page to an archive such as User_talk:ShootinPutin109/Archive_1 and then start a new talk page. Other editors use a bot to automatically archive older discussions. --Eastmain (talk) 08:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Archive? There's an archive feature here? ShootinPutin109 08:07, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Odd warning

What ARE you on about? Would you care to examine the recent contributions of Siwel_Ziva before placing bogus warnings? --17.255.252.6 (talk) 07:03, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Prod

Whilst Shah Bano Case and its Implications almost certainly deserves to be deleted, giving a reason of "Article clearly does not comply with WP:NOT. See WP:NOT for why" is just about useless! WP:NOT (and your first error was omitting to link!) contains numerous reasons for deletion but you must say which one! I took someone else to task recently for modifying an AfD tag of mine, so I hope you will forgive me for changing your AfD tag on this article. Keep up the new page patrolling! — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 12:01, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, thanks for the heads up about that!

Go ahead and change the AfD tag.~ ShootinPutin109Talk 12:04, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Blast Off (video game)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Blast Off (video game), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Blast Off. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:27, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Your move of the Blast Off video games and disambiguation pages does not reflect consensus. In addition, your move is considered a "Cut and Paste Move" and is highly undesireable as it does not transport the history of pages with it. I am undoing your edits. Thanks for using Wikipedia! ——Mr. E. Sánchez Wanna know my story?/ Share yours with me! 06:35, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Blast Off (video game)

A tag has been placed on Blast Off (video game), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

it is an exact copy of Blast Off

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ——Mr. E. Sánchez Wanna know my story?/ Share yours with me! 06:43, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:NEUST Logo.jpg)

You've uploaded File:NEUST Logo.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Paryusan

Hi, what made you think Paryusan is vandalism? ϢereSpielChequers 07:35, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Nah, should've been an AfD tag, not a CSD tag. Anyway, I don't think that the article is fit for Wikipedia. Looks to me more like a report or an essay rather than an actual enclopedic article. - ShootinPutin109 Talk. 10:51, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I think it needs work and is currently a mix of a legit article about a jain festival, and an essay about the jain diaspora. hopefully categorising it as Jainism will get someone who knows the subject to sort it out. ϢereSpielChequers 11:16, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: Southern Highlands Scouts

Hello ShootinPutin109, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (Southern Highlands Scouts) under a different criteria, because the one you provided was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any queries, please let me know. Thanks again! Ale_Jrbtalk 15:04, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Cecil Anthony Ince

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Cecil Anthony Ince. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cecil Anthony Ince. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:31, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Please update your status with WP:VG

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Speedy deletion nomination of Garena

A tag has been placed on Garena requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. New Page Triage engagement strategy released

Hey guys!

I'm dropping you a note because you filled out the New Page Patrol survey, and indicated you'd be interested in being contacted about follow-up work. This is to notify you that we've finally released both the initial documentation about the project and also the engagement strategy, which sets out how we plan to work with the community on this. Please give both a read, and leave any comments or suggestions you have on the talkpage, on my talkpage, or in my inbox - okeyes wikimedia.org.

It's awesome to finally get to start work on this! :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 02:39, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Paint.NET Icon.png

A tag has been placed on File:Paint.NET Icon.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [3], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Codename Lisa (talk) 03:02, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

Hi PritongKandule/Archives/2021,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest

  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
