License tagging for Image:Gladiatus.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Gladiatus.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:06, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Gladiatus edit

Hey there.

Good job fleshing out the article, but there's still something critically missing to stave off deletion for good: coverage by independent, reliable sources to establish sufficient notability for inclusion.

While simple press releases or reviews are rarely sufficient by themselves, you might want to find news coverage of the game. Especially if it supports a large number of players, or notable popularity. I note the game is a translation-- perhaps there is coverage in german (which, if I understand, is the original language)? Players of the german version might be able to help you there.

Good editing! — Coren (talk) 15:55, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm not familiar with the game itself, so it's not easy for me to help there. Have you found new articles talking about the game? Those tend to be a good starting point.
As an aside, I've change the copyright status tag on Image:Gladiatus.JPG. You had (erroneously) tagged it as free when it even has a copyright in the image. In this case, since it was used to illustrate an article on the game itself, it was better tagged as fair use of a web screenshot (which I did). — Coren (talk) 16:04, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, the best guide on how to provide references can be found in the citing sources guidelines. But if you can't figure it out, don't sweat it overmuch. Just add a references section in the article and place links and explanation there. Someone else will be able to do pretty formatting and cleanup in the worse case. — Coren (talk) 16:12, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
The page is better, but now it reads less like a user manual. Try looking at pages for similar games to see how they're written. Thanks, Bart133 (t) (c) 18:14, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Gladiatus.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Gladiatus.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:53, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
