Quarter Horse edits edit

Hi Piper All The Time! I see that you have been making a few edits to the American Quarter Horse article. Although they are good faith edits, they have been reverted by another editor for a few reasons. The first is that most of what you added was already duplicated elsewhere in the article. The second is that some of the information you added was POV or "point of view", meaning basically that it was over-supportive of the breed without being referenced. The last edit you made added a large block of copyrighted text from the AQHA association, which is a no-no on Wikipedia. Large blocks of text from other places cannot be copied verbatim into WP articles. You can paraphrase the information as long as you reference it, but please make sure that the information is not already included in the article (for example, the information on the various colors that QH's come in)! It's always great to have new edits around the horse articles, though, we need all the help we can get. The QH article has, unfortunately, been neglected for a while, and could use a dedicated editor who is willing to find all of the sources and information that it needs. If you would like, take a look at the Equine Wikiproject and its Horse breeds taskforce to get some ideas. For some breed articles that are in really good shape that could also give you some ideas, check out Thoroughbred, Suffolk Punch and Appaloosa. Please drop me a note here or on my talk page if you have any questions or comments! I look forward to seeing you around the equine articles in the future!
