TOC check edit

Hi, would you help me with WT:WikiProject Check Wikipedia#TOC_check? BTW, there are also these. Pages where several headers followed each other without empty lines between seemed a problem. You might want to check pages where my edit summary starts with a dot, e.g. [1]. -- User:Docu 06:08, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

fyi edit

As part of wikicheck you changed a number of tertiary headings to secondary headings.

I am sure your efforts were well-intentioned. But I believe they were ill-advised. I checked the wikicheck page, and I do not believe changing all headings to just one level was part of the mandate.

Guantanamo captives who remained in the camp as of the fall of 2004 had a Combatant Status Review Tribunal, and they had annual reviews ever year after that. At each of their reviews a Summary of Evidence memo was prepared. They testified. The officers drafted a decision memo reporting on their conclusions. For some captives their were other events which merited a sub-heading -- one at a lower level than the heading that lead the section on the hearing.

You had been going around and changing all those lower level headings to level 2, which, I believe, does not make sense. So, when I come across them in, articles on my watchlist, where I am sure your efforts were ill-advised, I am going to revert them.

No offense, as I am sure your efforts were well-intentioned. Geo Swan (talk) 16:29, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

This issue, stems from the fact that the 'first section' doesn't actually exist on the page. It is transcluded from {{CSRT-Yes}}. This causes the first actual section to be a level 3 which is a violation of accessability guidelines. Either the template or the individual articles must be changed to allow the first section in the article text to be a level 2. This requirement ensures that screen reading software can correctly read the page. --PigFlu Oink (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Could you fix these 20 page? -- User:Docu
  Done --PigFlu Oink (talk) 15:17, 30 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. -- User:Docu
You only did this on pages that had transcluded sections? Then I apologize. Sorry. What you did was completely justified by policy. Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 20:39, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

2009 New York bomb plot edit

Would it be possible simply to block the IP making the repeated edits?Historicist (talk) 18:35, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but as I am part of the minor edit war he is having with 3 other users I probablly shouldn't be the one to make the request. I was hoping that he would wise up, get tired, or just move on. I suppose we'll have to elevate the issue. --PigFlu Oink (talk) 22:13, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

2009 US swine flu outbreak table question edit

So I remembered your username and saw you've contributed to Template:2009 US swine flu outbreak table a lot, so I figured you could probably answer a quick question: Massachusetts has announced that it will stop publishing daily swine flu numbers; instead, weekly flu-like disease numbers will be published. Should MA then be listed as NLU? Bsimmons666 (talk) 15:00, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

1982 Porky's flu outbreak edit

>Too similar to 1982 Porky's flu outbreak, that one nearly killed me.

Good one! My chest hurt pretty bad on that one too. I saw people in the movie theater on the floor with chest pain too.  :-)   Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 15:51, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
