Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

October 2023 edit

  Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Lisa Hajjar. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Discretionary sanction edit

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement topic ban edit

The following topic ban now applies to you:

American politics from 1992 to present, broadly construed, for 5 mos.

You have been sanctioned repeated tendentious and WP:POINTY edits in this topic.

This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/American politics 2#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. Please read WP:TBAN to understand what a topic ban is. If you do not comply with the topic ban, you may be blocked for an extended period to enforce the ban.

If you wish to appeal the ban, please read the appeals process. You are free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. EvergreenFir (talk) 01:59, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Britain First edit

Please do not delete sourced material from their article: they are fascist and the article should be labeled as such. — Czello (music) 00:16, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean by fascist? Please refer to recognized definitions with citations and references within Wikipedia if you think such a subjective label is defensible. PiOrbital (talk) 00:17, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Citations call them fascist. — Czello (music) 00:19, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
These citations are to individuals in non-scholarly publications. Moreover, it is self-evident that such strong labels are subjective and only with a substantial amount of scholarly and serious effort that is published can such claims be made. PiOrbital (talk) 00:21, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you want to question the reliability of the sources the proper venue is WP:RSN. — Czello (music) 00:22, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I wrote many early pages on Wikipedia in hard subjects. I can see that things have changes and now this noble project has been hijacked. PiOrbital (talk) 00:32, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
The Nation, Al Jazeera and CNN are not legitimate sources. PiOrbital (talk) 00:36, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I hope you appreciate how nice Czello is being here. I am surprised not to see warning templates for content removal, edit warring or just for vandalism. Please stop now. --DanielRigal (talk) 01:00, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and for misuse of the minor edits tag. I do hope that wasn't deliberate. --DanielRigal (talk) 01:02, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes they are, per WP:RSP. — Czello (music) 11:43, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

January 2024 edit

  Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Britain First, you may be blocked from editing. --DanielRigal (talk) 01:05, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Very clear and adequate explanations were made. PiOrbital (talk) 01:30, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Britain First. Binksternet (talk) 02:17, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

You are violating NPOV. PiOrbital (talk) 02:34, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
