@StraussInTheHouse Hi, thanks for your review. I understand your rationale for making these draft pages. Unfortunately, I think you made a mistake here. This is not a simple case of those pages being "dictionary entries" as you cite. Rather, those pages include (cited!) annotation information about whether those species are bioluminescent or not, which by itself in my mind disqualifies them from being a strict dictionary page, and generally speaking, all those pages are genus or other taxonomic rank pages, which in many places in wikipedia are barely present stubs. I personally am trying a project to make wikipedia pages for the many hundreds of known disparate bioluminescent taxa, and overall it is a large task to include taxonomy in wikipedia generally. I strongly suggest it makes more sense to include such short taxonomy pages as stub article pages (easily discovered and extended upon by field experts), rather than hard to find draft pages. For example, with the automatic taxobox system, the links produced from there are to the articles, not the drafts, without warning that a draft page exists, so a field expert might decide to go off all the red links in a newly created tempalte in the automatic taxobox system (the templates for which I need to make to update the draft articles), and then go make a duplicate page ignoring the draft page, which seems like a waste of their time, and my time, (and maybe your time) to sort out the conflict. All those pages were (or should have been) listed as stubs, and in the time before you decided to review them, and in between the time you flagged it for review and to move (almost) all of them to drafts, people did review and edit the pages (see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Octophialucium&action=history , https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Abyla_(genus)&action=history, and fill in the information I hadn't. So, I'd appreciate it if you would move these pages out of draft back to stub articles. I tried with Collosphaera, Acrosphaera, and already seems like I've screwed things up, supporting my point that managing the difference between draft and main articles for these stub taxonomy pages is non obvious to beginners and a waste of time overall. In the future my recommendation to you would be to leave stub taxonomy articles as they are, as they will be improved on over time, including in the review process. About Guanitoxin

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Guanitoxin a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. I rescued a handful some months back. If I ever decide to try making pages for all those lineages again, I'll start over from the beginning as I can't keep track of what was deleted or not, & ensure each intermediate page is completed w/ taxobox etc. As a note, I don't think it is reasonable to require the original description of the genus for these pages - The resource I'm working off of does not have that information, and in many cases that is going to be somewhere in the 1800s literature, and a significant hunt to track it down. I'm simply interested in ensuring all the bioluminescent taxa are listed. I'll leave the detailed citation / discussion of the taxonomic nomenclature, to a taxonomist in that field.

All of the deleted drafts are refundable on request. Admins can see all of your deleted contributions, so if you at some point you want to start again and have all of them restored, ask at WP:REFUND and maybe one or more of us will help. You wouldn't necessarily need to provide a list as we can see the deleted contributions anyway. It seems like wasted effort to have to start all over again when we could restore them.

That said, you should be getting a message from a bot 1 month before deletion, and then a message when deletion is imminent or has just happened [you may have noticed a few of those today!], so your talk page history is your record; and there is a list up top of all of the drafts. WP:SECONDARY

Suggested reading: WP:SECONDARY The gist of this guideline is that Wikipedia prefers citations to reviews and books (WP:TERTIARY is even better), not primary journal references (tens of thousands appear annually). Citing secondary sources is the encyclopedic style. I also remind newish editors: do not cite yourself, your friends, or your colleagues. It's called conflict of interest WP:COI. No complaints from me, but I didnt look very closely. I just noticed that you are doing a lot. I dont like sending the above message, because I have no special stature here. Nonetheless, many new editors tend to add pretty specialized refs because that is what they know and are keen to share, but they fail (IMHO) to understand the generality of Wikipedia. We are not competing with Annual Reviews of .... Another recurring issue is that some new editors plug papers from their pals. So, I figured that someone needs to say something. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
