How does Wkipedia administrate blatant eracism? It is happening quite frequently on the Iraq war Talk page. Please help put an end to disrespectful editing and deleting so that others can express free speech without censorship.

This is a bit beyond the scope of 'helpme', which is intended to help people with issues more related to direct editing of the encyclopedia, and not so much for dispute resolution. Reply to your post on the Iraq War talk page.

As I posted on the Iraq War talk page in the topic above where you posted, I am generally very biased in favor of the United States because I am generally proud of what it has done in the world compared to other nations. That being said, I always enjoy hearing about and learning from different points of view and yours was very interesting. In addition to responding below, I will check out the links you posted. I look forward to hearing your reply.  :-)

1) Regarding your question as to why, if we are truly fighting a war on terrorism, are we only fighting in Iraq I would respond a few ways:

a) A minor point, but we are fighting in Afghanistan as well.

b) While the U.S. would like to see all terrorism wiped off the face on the planet, there is a limit to what even a hyperpower can do with its resources. But if you mean to imply that the U.S. should intervene in more countries and remove other dictators who violate the human rights of their people, I've been in favor of that for some time. I think its a disgrace that Castro is still in power a couple of hundred miles from where I live. If the UN assisted in that kind of thing it would at least have some respect from me.

c) While I agree that there are now more terrorists in Iraq than before the war, I say, "good!". The U.S.' number one goal is to prevent more terrorist acts in the U.S. It makes perfect sense to create a "front" in the war that gets terrorists to fight there instead of in the U.S. While its terrible to have any American troops die, I'd rather see terrorists attacking our armed, equipped, and trained troops than our citizens at home.

2) I agree that there no connection between 9/11 and Hussein, other than his probably chuckling when he heard about it. But Hussein hated the U.S. and I think it was only a matter of time before he found some way to help Bin Laden. That old saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" would have found its way to his decision making.

3) America certainly is not perfect and has done some things I'm not proud of but can you elaborate on the "cruel and deceitful history of killing", etc. ?

Hello Peter. Let me address your questions seperately:

• How to become an administrator. This page will tell you about how editors are promoted to adminship by community consensus. Many editors have standards against which they measure candidates. If you think you would make a good Admin, you can nominate yourself, but i would recommend viewing the nominations of others first, to get an idea whether you are likely to have success or not at this time.
• Regarding how to start a project. Well, first of all you need to think of an appropriate topic, then visit Wikipedia:WikiProject and follow the suggestions there! Thanks for uploading Image:Buddhist.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
• Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
